Vehicle is a kind of transportation tool with high performance requirement and large load variation.The performance of steering gear,the core component of steering system,is crucial to the influence of steering system,which determines the operation performance and safety of automobiles.There are many types of automobile steering gear,rack,worm crank pin and circular ball steering gear.For medium and large commercial vehicles and off-road vehicles often driven on complex road conditions,the circular ball steering gear is safe and leather,labor-saving,easy to steer,and widely used.With the development of automobile technology,traditional hydraulic power steering is gradually replaced by electric power steering.In recent years,many major steering manufacturers in China are actively promoting and developing circular ball electric power steering(hereinafter referred to as C-BEPS),but due to technical difficulties,reliability is not guaranteed and other reasons,the product has not achieved large-scale market applications.However,with the breakthroughs in many technical difficulties and the increasing market demand,the main factors affecting and restricting the application of products have begun to change into insufficient capacity,especially the lack of efficient and reliable product assembly and ex-factory performance testing equipment.Therefore,it is very important to develop the inspection equipment for the output performance of the electric power steering system with circular spheres,to realize the accurate testing of the output performance indexes of the products,to effectively guarantee the quality of the products,and to have a very important significance for the mass production of the products.Based on the analysis and research of EPS structure,working principle,assistant characteristics and testing standards,the structure and control software are designed according to the functional requirements of the equipment.Components,component selection,component parameters,software interface and operation principle are elaborated in detail,and the testing results are explained.And the evaluation will provide some reference for future related research.
