Study On Organic Renewal Of Living Street Space In Old Urban District

The living street is a public space with a high coverage rate in the old urban district,and it is the main place for people to carry out daily activities.The planning thought of the " vehicleoriented" and the rapid increase in the number of motor vehicles exceeded the traffic carrying capacity of the living street,which worsened the street pedestrian space environment.Blindly demolishing the building further ruined the living atmosphere of the street,neglected the social function of the street,made the street activities become monotonous and boring,and ultimately resulted in the living street of the old urban district becoming the lost space of the city.This paper takes the living street of the old urban district as the research object,aiming at improving the vitality of the street and creating the atmosphere of the street space.The concept of street renewal,related theories and research status are sorted out,and the constituent elements,types and functions of street space in the old urban district are analyzed,which lays a theoretical foundation for the study of life street space in the old urban district.From the two perspectives of users and street status,the problems of the living street space in the old urban district are summarized,and the spatial atmosphere and location characteristics of the street are expounded.According to the theory of organic renewal,the principle of “people-oriented,adjusting measures to local conditions,integrated coordination,and gradual progress” was proposed.Through the method of designing the pavement,upgrading the interface along the street,creating node space,optimizing the structure of the business,strengthening cultural construction or other transformation methods,the environment of the street can be improved and a vibrant street space can be created.Taking Dafu Road in Fuyang District of Hangzhou as a typical research object of life streets,the overview of street is explained and the existing problems of the street are analyzed.According to the transformation principle and transformation method of the organic renewal of the living street in the old urban district,the transformation strategy applicable to Dafu Road was proposed,and the street space of Dafu Road was reconstructed based on the transformation strategy.It mainly includes the following aspects: the transformation of street functions which can improve the quality of the walking environment and promote the development of street activities;the renovation along the street interface which can enrich the vertical interface and level and improve the quality of the streetscape;the improvement of street landscape which can highlight the atmosphere of the street place;the optimization of street business which can improve the commercial service function of the street to increase street popularity;at the same time,paying attention to the space atmosphere of the street,which can create the spirit of the street space and enhance the sense of belonging of the street.Based on the transformation strategy of the living street space in the old urban district,the street is organically updated,which can transform the street space environment,supplement the social function of the street space and make the street a place suitable for people's activities.This street design method,which not only does not need to widen the street,but also meet the needs of the street crowd,provides a new perspective for street research and has certain reference value for similar street space research in the old urban district.
