In recent years, the production and hazardous meterials transportation by road have increased.According to statistics, more than 95% of China’s hazardous chemicals are involved in transportation from different places. The accidents of hazardous chemicals transportation by road occur so frequent that the damage on human health and environmental are extremely serious and gradually expanding and deepening. The characteristics of hazardous chemicals road transportation include complex accident causes, many risk influencing factors and uncertain risk factor parameters. There are various types of accidents, and the evolution of accident consequences of different types of hazardous chemicals is uncertain. Therefore, optimizing the risk assessment model for hazardous chemicals road transport accidents is of great significance for clarifying the road transport risk of hazardous chemicals, researching the mechanism of hazardous chemicals transport accidents and risk safety control.Firstly, through literature investigation and actual data, the influencing factors and related factors of road transport accident risk of hazardous chemicals are clarified, and the evolution of accident consequences is explored. The ALOHA software was used to analyze the impact range of the road transport accidents of hazardous chemicals under the conditions of 13 influencing factors. The physicochemical properties of liquid ammonia were analyzed to determine the probability of death of personnel in hazardous road transport accidents under different accident scenarios of different toxic gas concentrations, fires and steam cloud explosions.Secondly,a risk assessment model for road transport accidents of hazardous chemicals is established, including road accident rate model for hazardous chemicals and optimization of road transport accident consequence model for hazardous chemicals. The model considers the damage consequences of accidents to environmentally sensitive areas, and distinguishes the environment into seven categories: university campuses, hospitals, public green spaces, cultural monuments, etc. The entropy weight method is used to determine the weight of the accidents causing consequences for different types of environmentally sensitive areas.Thirdly, the Beijing Sixth Ring Highway was taken as an example. The risk differences of the road sections under the four seasons and the risk grading results of the road sections were analyzed. Finally, the calculation results are verified by the risk classification index method of hazardous chemicals road transportation and the risk assessment model for hazardous materials road transportation accidents is credible.
