Due to the rapid development of China’s tourism industry,the tourism development mode has changed from scenic spot tourism to all-round tourism.Tourists’requirements for personalized and characteristic tourism products and services are constantly increasing.At the same time,the requirements for infrastructure,public services and ecological environment are also increasing.New and unique tourism modes and the rapid development of the family vacation market are actively promoting the planning and construction of leisure vacation tourism projects in tourism destinations,such as upgrading the quality of vacation tourism products developed by integrating natural resources such as forests and lakes with cultural tourism resources such as historic sites and creativity.As the planning of modern tourist areas is a project with high investment,high risk and long return on investment,its success is subject to many factors.In the past,the traditional planning of tourist areas paid too much attention to visual effects,and did not pay attention to how tourists feel the environment and interact with it.However,in the planning and design of tourist areas,considering tourists’perception experience,i.e.the comprehensive perception of vision,hearing,smell,taste,touch and skin sensation,different types of tourists can realize all-round perception experience of the tourist environment,thus providing comfort and participation in the landscape experience of tourist areas.Therefore,it is particularly important to apply perceptual experience to the planning and design of tourist areas.Taking the planning and design of Shaxi Reservoir tourist area in Taiping Town,Conghua District,Guangzhou City as an example,this paper conducts on-the-spot investigation of actual cases,applies the theory of perceptual experience in an exploratory way according to the characteristics of the site,and demonstrates around the cases to summarize the planning and design method of tourist area based on perceptual experience.The thesis is divided into six parts.The first part elaborates the research background,purpose and signi:ficance,related concepts and theories,the research status at home and abroad,as well as the research contents and methods of this article.The second part discusses the basic knowledge of sensory and perceptual psychology,the basic sensory experience of landscape space,and the interaction of other sensory experiences.The third part draws lessons from five domestic and foreign classic cases,analyzes and discusses them,analyzes their advantages and disadvantages,and gives some inspiration to their own project planning and design.The fourth part discusses the planning and design methods of tourist area perception experience based on following the planning principles in the planning process of tourist area.According to the previous theoretical analysis,the fifth part takes Shaxi Reservoir Tourism Zone in Taiping Town,Conghua District,Guangzhou City as the research object,and puts forward the overall planning scheme,including preliminary analysis,development orientation,overall layout,zoning planning,perceptual experience planning,special planning,etc.Finally,the paper makes a summary discussion on the planning and design of tourist areas based on perceptual experience.It pays attention to tourists’ perceptual experience and builds a tourist environment space with sensory experience on the premise of ensuring personal safety around the internal and external five-sense sensory experience.Effectively ensure the economic benefits of tourist areas,and provide reference for future exploration and improvement of the overall quality of tourist area planning.
