Research On Mosaic Brick Of The Traditional Architecture Of Southern Fujian

Southern Fujian is located in the southeast of Fujian province,with a humid climate,warm winter and hot summer.Many traditional building walls are heavily covered with bricks,and from this,the practice of the mosaic brick with rich regional characteristics has come into being.As a local wall technology in southern Fujian,mosaic brick combining different types of bricks to form various beautiful wall patterns.They not only have good load-bearing,heat insulation and moisture-proof effect,but also directly affect the overall image of architectureSpelling brick technology is the perfect unity of wall structure and decoration,which embodies the aesthetic orientation and folk beliefs in southern Fujian,contains the profound construction wisdom of the ancients,and has high historical,cultural,scientific and artistic value.However,with the influx of new technology,new materials and foreign technology,a variety of poor mosaic brick have emerged,and the stability of the inheritance of its construction techniques has been damaged to a certain extent.Moreover,the existing research results are scattered and lack of in-depth study on the technology of spelling brick.It is difficult to provide effective guidance and reference for a large number of ancient building construction and renovation projects.Therefore,it is urgent to carry out a systematic study of the spelling brick technology.In this paper,the technology of the spelling brick in southern Fujian traditional architecture is taken as the research object.And starting from three aspects of application position,decoration type and construction technique,this paper systematically sorted out and studied the technology of the research object.Firstly,through the field investigation of classical cases in cultural relics protection units,traditional villages and famous historical and cultural villages at all levels,the application parts,characteristics,decorative types and themes of mosaic brick in southern Fujian are summarized.At the same time,combined with interviews with craftsmen,the author followed up the relevant construction and renovation projects of ancient buildings,and recorded the common materials,masonry types and construction techniques in the construction process of mosaic brick.Then the differences and connections of the traditional architecture mosaic brick in Quanzhou,Xiamen and Zhangzhou are discussed,the relationship between decoration and architectural age is analyzed,and the construction wisdom of this traditional craft is excavated.This paper is expected to provide reference for future research on traditional buildings,protection and renovation of ancient architectural heritage,and regional architectural design in southern Fujian.
