Bridge is the source of communicating the world.With the economic development of various countries,the demand in roads and railways is continuously increasing,and the number and types of Bridges with the ability to cross valleys,rivers and seas are also increasing.In the range of small span bridges,the simply supported beam bridge is widely used by designers because of its simple design structure,properly defined forces and it is not affected by the bearings displacement,its fabrication and installation are also simple.With the development of economic globalization,the cooperation of infrastructure construction among countries becomes closer.It is particularly important to clearly understand the similarities and differences of bridge design codes in different regions.Therefore,taking simply supported girder bridge as an example,this paper compares and analyses the latest bridge design codes of China,?Code for Design of Highway Reinforced Concrete and Prestressed Concrete Bridges and Culverts ?(JTG 3362-2018),? General Specifications for Design of Highway Bridges and Culverts?(JTG D60-2015)and European Code from different aspects(design criteria,load effect combination,limit state of structure,etc.).The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)First of all,this paper summarizes the existing research results and shortcomings on the comparison of bridge design codes and proposes the necessity of this study.Then,based on the latest Chinese bridge design codes and European codes,this paper makes a comparative analysis from the aspects of material performance,basic design criteria,load and load effects,classification and calculation of limit state,effect and combination,and gives the comparative results.(2)Based on the basic theories of bridge reliability in Chinese and European bridge design codes,the differences between the two codes are compared in terms of structural reliability indexes,such as design baseline period,target reliability,probability model and reliability index of limit state.At the same time,different reliability calculation methods are introduced to analyze the bending,shear,and deflection cracks of the bridge structure under the limit state.(3)With simply supported girder bridge as an example,using finite element software Midas Civil to model a simply supported T beam bridge,in accordance with the bridge design code in the given design parameters,the bridge is calculated under the different specifications,and under different limit state of bearing capacity,action and action effect,reliability and other data,moreover a comparative analysis of the results is made.Through a quantitative analysis of the difference between the two standards is given.
