As technology permeates industries,more and more new frontier technologies have been widely used in the field of ships.As an important part of the whole ship,the monitoring system of ship's engine room tends to be intelligent and modular.Among them,embedded technology has a very good prospect in the field of engine room monitoring.It can tailor the whole system appropriately according to the actual demand,and has some advantages in stability,security,flexibility,performance and power consumption.From the signal acquisition module to the upper monitor display and monitoring alarm module,we can use embedded technology to develop a stable,safe and reliable monitoring system of ship's engine room.Embedded microcomputers are undoubtedly more advantageous and competitive in terms of volume,processing speed,real-time and security.The automation degree of monitoring system of ship's engine room reflects the automation level of the whole ship field to a certain extent.The monitoring system of ship's engine room is mainly aimed at mechanical and electrical equipment in engine room,such as main engine,generator,boiler,etc.The crew does not need to monitor the equipment in the engine room,but can monitor and control all kinds of equipment through the display screen in the centralized control room equipped with the monitoring system of ship's engine room.When the monitoring system of ship's engine room detects that the parameters of a certain equipment exceed the limit,the display will provide the specific information of the fault equipment,and send an alarm signal to the crew to deal with the fault equipment.Staff members can judge the specific location of the fault by displaying specific information and alarm signals,and then take effective measures to eliminate the fault of related equipment to ensure the safety of ship navigation.And the improvement of automation can also effectively reduce the number of staff on board,and reduce the possibility of potential safety hazards caused by human error operation.On the basis of previous research,this paper first describes the research status of monitoring system of ship's engine room at home and abroad,and then introduces the embedded technology,after this the paper also analyses the development status of CAN bus communication technology and the communication protocol of CAN bus.Based on this,a new type of monitoring system of ship's engine room based on embedded platform is proposed.In order to build the whole system,CAN bus is used as the main communication network to collect,transmit,display and control the data of each monitoring point.Then the hardware part of the whole system is analyzed concretely,and the software part of the system is designed and developed.The hardware part mainly includes the hardware part of the monitoring node and the hardware part of the upper monitor.The monitoring node part includes control module,CAN bus transceiver module,power module and data acquisition module.The upper monitor hardware part mainly includes the upper monitor control module and gateway module.The software part mainly includes: software design of monitoring node,software development platform of upper monitor,design of human-computer interaction interface,software design of gateway node and software design of CANoe simulation node.The wireless local area network(WLAN)of the upper monitor makes the whole monitoring system of the engine room more flexible.The crew can log on to the upper monitor system by using only PC or mobile devices through WLAN,which greatly facilitates the crew's monitoring and control of the parameters of the equipment in the engine room.Finally,the whole system is debugged,the corresponding conclusions are drawn and the prospect of the work is proposed.Especially,the CANoe module plays an important role in the development of the monitoring system of ship's engine room.In the early development of the system,the CANoe module can be used to build the simulation model,and then the function and performance of the upper monitor control module can be evaluated.After setting up the environment,the software of the upper monitor control module can be developed as a whole.After the development,the comprehensive test of the function and performance of the whole system mainly depends on CANoe module.In addition,CANoe module can diagnose the communication of the whole system.The CANoe module can diagnose the communication between the network nodes on the CAN bus and record every frame message transmitted on the bus to make it easy for the crew to find out the cause of the fault.In addition,CANoe module can also provide effective help for the integration of CAN bus network and the software of the upper monitor control module.The monitoring system of ship's engine room designed in this paper is based on embedded platform,and can basically meet the initial set goals in terms of function and performance.In the whole design process,the real-time,scalability and security of the system are fully considered.Compared with traditional monitoring methods,the monitoring system of ship's engine room designed in this paper has many advantages,such as high reliability,good real-time,simple operation,strong portability and low cost.
