The theory of urban fringe belt is an important theoretical idea of of the urban morphology of the Conzenian.Relevant research is more common in western cities, but the application of this theory is still in the exploration stage in China.Studying the development of urban fringe belt will help to serve and guide the practice of ecological conservation and urban renewal. The urban form is constantly evolving, with the interaction of residential land and urban fringe, which makes the city form different urban landscapes. It can be seen that the study of urban fringe helps us to understand the changes in urban form and the origin of urban landscape in different periods. The paper takes Quanzhou Ancient City as the research object and makes a detailed interpretation of historical maps and historical and historical materials.Based on the framework of urban morphology plane pattern theory, the paper analyzes the land use characteristics of each marginal zone step by step. The study explores the evolution of inner fringe belts in different periods of Quanzhou ancient city, and finally draws the land use distribution map of the fringe belt zone,so that the development process of complex urban morphology can be transformed into intuitive graphical information.Based on the urban morphology of the Conzenian, the study combines the current and historical data of ArcGIS analysis platform and modern technology statistics to provide a reference index for better understanding and control of the landscape characteristics of different shapes of Quanzhou ancient city, which is helpful for comparative analysis of different regions. The shape, development characteristics and genesis are conducive to revealing the morphological characteristics and evolution of the inner fringe belt of Quanzhou ancient city more intuitively.
