Design Strategy Of Contemporary Rural Cultural Architecture Based On Collective Memory

Contemporary rural cultural architecture is the main carrier of villagers’ cultural life.However,with the wave of globalization and urbanization,the development of rural cultural buildings has encountered an unprecedented predicament.The withdrawal of function demand,disorder of planning and organization,lack of rhyme of form convergence and absence of place spirit in rural cultural buildings have also brought about the break of collective memory,the lack of cultural self-confidence and the gradual disappearance of sense of belonging and identity.With the gradual development of the national policy on the construction of beautiful countryside and the rise of rural architecture practice,it brings new opportunities for the development of rural cultural architecture.Based on the above problems and the present situation,through the study and analysis of collective memory theory,this paper summarizes its four characteristics of collectivity,constructiveness,culture and place.Creatively introducing the theory of collective memory into the design of contemporary rural cultural buildings,I find that its four characteristics can be coupled with the existing problems of rural cultural buildings,and then put forward corresponding guiding principles.I hope to prov ide inspiration for the design and development of contemporary rural cultural buildings,and arouse the collective memory of the countryside and recovering villagers’ cultural self-confidence and belonging identity.Based on field research and questionnaire survey,this paper summarizes the development of contemporary rural cultural buildings.Based on the restoring of rural collective memory and reconstructing the villagers’ value identity,combined with practical cases,this paper provides an effective basis for the design and research of contemporary rural cultural architecture.The article is divided into four parts: introduction,basic analysis,space design strategy and form design strategy.Through the four guiding principles summarized by the collective memory theory,this paper puts forward the corresponding strategies of space design and form design of rural cultural buildings.In space design,the strategy of locality,collectivity and original rhyme is put forward for three layers of space layout,space organization and space environment;in form design,the strategy of symbolism,emotion and localization is put forward for three layers of architectural form,architectural interface and construction technology.It can provide some valuable reference for contemporary rural cultural building design.
