Study On The Garden Making Thought And Practice Which Focuses On Truth-seeking In Yuanye

Jicheng is a famous gardening theorist and practitioner in the late Ming Dynasty.His "Yuanye" is a masterpiece that integrates practical experience and gardening culture.It has been guiding and correcting China’s gardening creation for many years;the viewpoints,thoughts and theories have more guidance and reference value for the construction of landscape architecture in China in the new era.Scholars are more and more comprehensive in the research of Ji’s theory,but with the background of the times into consideration,more ideas will be explored and benefit today’s development of landscape architecture and practice.Through the study and judgment of "Yuanye",this article will discuss the aesthetic thought and practical value of the Ji’s gardening from the perspective of "seeking truth" aesthetic consciousness.It is mainly discussed from the following three aspects.First,we will analyze the connotation and cause of Ji’s aesthetic consciousness.The research will focus on the phase,foundation,decoration,wall hanging,paving and other aspects so as to understand Ji’s gardening philosophy of “made by people,but seem from nature”.It also makes a brief analysis of the causes of the aesthetic thoughts of the garden.It is concluded that Ji advocates different gardening methods according to different geographical environments and various physical properties,so as to achieve the true beauty effect of “natural born”.Its aesthetic sense of seeking truth was formed by the influence of Jing Hao,Guo Xi and Si Kongtu and other painters and writers,as well as their individuality and rich experience.Secondly,it explores the aesthetic way of truth-seeking consciousness in Ji’s gardening thought.He advocates that the creators can use their own initiative;they should be good at combining the scenery in the garden with the surrounding environment according to the needs of actual functions and artistic effects.Through the "cause" and "borrowing" ways,they will form a pleasant and comfortable environment..Third,it clarifies the aesthetic truth and its contemporary value of “decent and appropriate” and “from heaven”,both “decent” and “ingenious”,both “appropriate” and “precise”,which requires the creator to grasp the appropriate “ Degree" and make a false come true and then reach the picturesque scenery of "Away from Heaven".Fourth,this aesthetic requirement is actually to promote the unity of the beauty of "manual and natural",which still has important guiding value in contemporary Chinese gardening and other design.Contemporary garden designers should learn Ji’s aesthetic realm and return to the essence of design.The conclusion of this paper: Ji achieves the ideal realm of "although by human beings from heaven" through through the "smart in borrowing" and "excellent in the body" methods.This true realm of garden art and its ecological wisdom still has important guiding value in the contemporary landscape gardening and design.
