In order to speed up the building of modern vocational education system in our country,improve the efficiency of modern vocational education,enrich the modern vocational education method,the project teaching method in higher vocational colleges are promoted,the real project to market as the carrier in combination with practical skills training of teaching method,with its strong comprehensive subject and professional application and acclaimed.The cultivation of interior design professionals with public space design course as an important content is also very suitable for the implementation of project teaching method.After years of development,PBL has gained a firm foothold in the curriculum system of interior design major.However,the practice of PBL in public space design courses is still in the stage of exploration and verification.How to promote the proper combination of project teaching method and public space design course,and how to improve the effectiveness of project teaching method in public space design course are still worthy of researchers’ discussion.This study explores the application of PBL in the course of public space design by combining theoretical thinking with practical cases.This study starts from the theoretical basis,and takes the project teaching method and the public space design curriculum related teaching research review as the forerunner;First of all,through the project teaching method,the basic concept of the public space design curriculum,basic problems,mutual relations,especially the project teaching method in the public space design curriculum application of the necessity of the necessary theoretical exploration;Then,based on the existing problems in the teaching of the public space design course and even the whole interior design course system,this paper proposes the basic teaching design principles and basic teaching procedures of the project teaching method in the public space design course.In order to realize the value of PBL,its correct application is of great importance.Theoretical thinking is the basic work of teaching reform practice.It verifies the hypothesis by discovering,understanding the problem,putting forward some hypotheses,and finally solving the problem through a series of operations.This study followed this model.In order to verify the rationality of theoretical thinking,I took the teaching class of my vocational college as a case,took the catering space design as the entry point,implemented the project teaching method through the introduction of specific projects,and finally achieved satisfactory results for both the market and students.The case further verifies the effectiveness of PBL in the application of public space design courses.This study draws the following conclusions through empirical research.First,compared with the traditional teaching method,project teaching method has obvious advantages in the cultivation of interior design professionals.As the core and main course of interior design major,public space design course integrates the main skills of interior design major,reflecting a high degree of comprehensiveness and applicability.In the teaching practice,the specific project design work has stimulated the student’s study enthusiasm extremely well,also lets the student touch the profession market request,the operation standard and the work flow truly.Secondly,PBL has good operability in the course of public space design.In this study,I tried the project teaching method for the first time,and implemented the project teaching based on a large-scale design project.Although in the implementation process also encountered this or that kind of difficulty,but in general,this teaching practice has obtained the very good teaching effect.As long as the school handles the relationship with the industry market,get through the vocational post to the "last mile" of professional training;Real design projects will continue to enter the teaching and promote the most fresh talent training mode of maturity.Thirdly,the implementation of project teaching in public space design course depends on solid teaching design.Through practical cases,this study finds that before the implementation of project teaching,it is necessary to strengthen the understanding of the project,make clear the teaching objectives,and do not talk about the project without teaching in the project teaching method.Teaching design should focus on what students can do in the project and how to do it,rather than giving priority to how to make an excellent design.Fourth,in project teaching method,students have a high degree of independent learning right,and students’ professional ability and learning ability will have an important impact on the teaching effect.Especially in vocational education,teaching must take into account students’ weak foundation,weak willpower,low self-confidence and other learning situation,otherwise,students are more likely to appear frustration and give up learning.In general,project teaching method is still in the stage of exploration and verification in the teaching practice of interior design major,and more practices are needed to explore how to improve the maturity of project teaching method.
