Research On Walker For The Elderly Based On SAPAD

The severe aging of the population has promoted the strong demand of the elderly market.Aiming at the phenomenon that the design process of the elderly walker mainly focuses on the realization of product functions,that is,product-centered design.With the progress of the times,today’s products pay more attention to the user experience of products,that is,user-centered design.So the key to design is to integrate product and user.Through the product as a symbol system,under the premise of deep understanding of SAP AD construction,this paper observes and analyzes the use behavior of the elderly in the Yuexiu District of Guangzhou,and extracts it from the six meaning layers.Different behavioral meanings are extracted and clustered.At last,the core meaning clusters are obtained,so as to improve the function modules of the existing walker from the perspective of meaning.Under the guidance of the SAP AD method,observe the interaction behavior of the elderly using the walker process in daily life and study it.The subject observes the typical behaviors of the elderly users in one day’s activities,including living in the house,going down the stairs,walking on the sidewalk,and Typical behaviors in the activities of the road and entering the activity center of the elderly,but also pay attention to the interaction between the old and the object and the meaning behind the behavior.Finally,the mapping relationship between the behavior and the six meaning layers is analyzed,and the core meaning cluster is mined and clustered.Behavior-object-meaning relationship,re-engineering and perfecting the functional modules of the walker,and exploring new functional modules and new design opportunities for the walker.The research method analyzes the behavioral significance of the elderly traveler from the perspective of conformity and conducts design practice,and further provides practical examples and perfects the application in the construction of the method.Reconstructing the elderly walker,and based on the construction plan,combined with relevant industrial design methods and skills,completed the new elderly walker design.Through research analysis and design practice,it is proposed that the design of the walker should pay attention to the four design directions of safety,practicability,portability and affectivity,and improve the elderly walker in the analysis case,and propose a new functional module.
