The passenger flow in the urban rail transit network has regular dynamic changes, the most obvious and prominent of which is the tidal traffic phenomenon caused by the travel demand of residents' commuting. In the lines with obvious tidal traffic phenomena, the passenger flow has an uneven distribution both of time and space, which makes the capacity of some zones not fully utilized or the capacity of some sections tight. Therefore, this paper studies the characteristics of the tidal passenger flow, advising the transportation organization methods to each kind of distribution of passenger flow. Then, quantitatively analyzing the matching degree of its transportation capacity with different sections of the network,so as to help identify the sections which don't make full use of its capacity or are short of capacity, and then from the perspective of passengers and enterprise to set up an transportationorganization-optimization model, which can satisfying the trip demand of passengers and improving the matching degree of passenger flow and transportation capacity. At last, evaluating the effect of optimal scheme.Taking Chengdu Metro network as an example, this paper firstly analyzes the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of passenger flows of six lines in the network by using its operation organization data. Then analyzing the matching degree of tidal passenger flow with transportation capacity of each line,it shows that the matching degree of Sihe-Wugensong and Sihe-Science City zones of Line 1 in the morning and evening peak hours can be optimized.Using established model to solve the optimal schemes, and evaluating the effects of optimal schemes,it shows that the optimal scheme of morning peak hour is effective, which reduces the 23.72% of the capacity and section passenger flow difference while ensuring the operational service level, and increases the average full-load rate of sections by about 20% and reduces 6 fleeting trains.
