The Public Space Landscape Design And Study Of Baishizhou Urban Village In Shenzhen

In city development,such public spaces as city buildings,landscapes and streets are not suitable for development will be demolished and rebuilt,but those are city impressions and memories also city features.Cities have lost their own features in the same trend of city development.As a vital reflection for city features,the regional appearance of city’s public spaces shall avoid being the same.A city’s regional features are reflected from little spaces in the city,so at the time of city renewal,city construction shall be evolved in a sustainable development form.Through a city’s development rule,a city’s space shall be integrated.Based on the sustainable development,the current relationship between city’s development patterns and city’s future trends could be properly coordinated,in order to promote city renewal.This thesis,based on the investigation of Baishizhou urban village,has analyzed current site situations,culture customs,population types,space structures and social behaviors,etc.in the public space of Baishizhou urban village.The design philosophy has been summarized to present such design theory as “partly demolished and optimally updated”,and three design strategies have been raised for Baishizhou urban village’s public space landscape design: the function upgrade design;the main streets plan;the new construction of public activity spaces.Through the study on the people flow,the travel route and the population type,to plan the site with preferable trafficability to do reform,in order to improve the humanized space of the community.The major conclusions of this thesis are shown as following:Firstly,Shenzhen urban villages undertake the collective memory of Shenzhen Time,and those are the reflection of Shenzhen development history.The Development of urban villages can be integrated with the urbanization process.A new pattern can be established for the reform of urban villages,and the city memory should be remained in the urbanization process.Secondly,the design strategy of reforming Shenzhen urban villages shall not stay in “tearing down to rebuild”.We should regenerate those urban villages in an optimized way,to remain the city space texture,and to rebuild the city culture and the space structure.Thirdly,through researching social behaviors,the main people requirements can be gained within a visual range.Based on the human-oriented design criteria,we could create a humanized social space,in order to improve the attraction and environment of the space.Fourthly,from the view of experiencers,activity types of the community public space should be analyzed according to the population types of the community,and the selected region should accord with the requirements of surrounding people.
