The character-type memorial landscape is an important part of the commemoration of the landscape and an important way to promote the building of socialist spiritual civilization.Fully understand and grasp the spiritual connotation of the characters,combine the natural environment and human history of the venue,and shape the commemorative landscape with historical and cultural identity and sense of belonging.It will promote the development of commemorative landscape,unite national strength,and promote social progress.Important practical significance.This paper takes the character-shaped commemorative space as the research object,and systematically studies the character-type commemorative space planning and design based on narrative theory through literature research,case analysis and design practice verification,and obtains the following research results:(1)Through literature research,it discusses the related concepts and theories of character-type commemorative space and narrative theory,and analyzes and summarizes the different types of characters,plots and environments in narrative themes and their symbols,metaphors and contrasts in the character-shaped memorial space.And other narrative expression techniques.(2)Select Roosevelt Memorial Park,Martin Luther King Memorial Park,Qinghai Atomic City Memorial Park,Meishan Susun Memorial Park and other domestic and international narrative-based character-type commemorative space excellent design cases,from the space layout in the memorial landscape It analyzes narrative techniques,path settings,landscape element design,etc.,and extracts the use of narrative techniques,combined with the experience of the characters,and shapes the advanced design concepts and successful experiences of the commemorative theme with the visitor experience.(3)On the basis of excellent case study,combined with the application methods and approaches of narrative theory in the creation of character-type commemorative space,summed up the strategy of character-based commemorative space planning and design based on narrative theory.After condensing the narrative theme,the figurative symbols and words are used to express the characteristics and connotations of the theme;in the narrative structure layout of the memorial landscape,the overall framework of the narrative space is constructed from the spatial sequence and the tour path;The narrative scene setting constructs a step-by-step progressive narrative program in different stages of development,such as beginning,development,climax,and ending;enriching the viewer’s experience content through the design and layout of landscape elements with storyline connotation To make the narrative theme sublimate.(4)Through the project practice of Li Baoguo Memorial Park,the practical response to the planning and design strategy of the character-shaped memorial space.On the basis of systematic analysis of the location,natural environment and humanistic historical background,the author deeply analyzes and sorts out the advanced deeds of the commemorative character Li Baoguo and the development of the mountain farmers to get rid of poverty and get rich,and extracts the “Taihang New Yugong”.Design theme.In the layout of the space structure of the Memorial Park,combined with the touching experience of Li Baoguo’s roots in the past 35 years,it was divided into four stages: the first entry into the Taihang,the Fugang Guoxing,the Green Ridge new article,and the red berry song.Corresponding four consecutive narrative commemorative spaces with distinctive features.According to the topographical features of the site,the west side of the memorial garden adopts the landscape form of natural woodland,and runs through a natural and smooth garden road,connecting the entrance of the park with the last memorial space,and the four consecutive spaces of the memorial park.The composition of the main streamlines together constitutes the complete circular tour of the memorial park.The feasibility of the character-type commemorative space planning and design strategy was verified through the practice of the planning and design project of Li Baoguo Memorial Park.
