The Study Of Human Factors And Control In Air Traffic Control

With the constant renewal of technologies,the stability and safety of equipment have been increased.Human factor gradually became the main reason which could result in flight accident in civil aviation.The technical factors early lead up to 80% of flight accident have been gradually reduced to 20%,while the human factor raised from 20% to 80%.The study of human factors in foreign countries started early,but it was not began until 1990 s in China.Originally,the study was aimed at pilots,but now it gradually include in air traffic controller,aircraft maintenance personnel,dispatcher and so on.Air traffic control units are responsible for security and order of air flights.There are about 8000 air traffic controllers working for the jobs around our country.As the development of civil aviation and the increase of air traffic flow,the air traffic situation and security pressure become increasingly busy under limited airspace.In air traffic system,the air traffic controllers provide air traffic services to all flights by ATC clearance.The controller’s mistakes will result in civil aviation accidents directly.Our government always regards safety as the bottom line and adopts a zero tolerance attitude towards potential safety hazards in civil aviation.Therefore,effective measures must be taken to reduce the occurrence and impact of human errors.The human factors in air traffic control are the reason leading to controller’s mistake,which include controller’s own problem and the incentive result in controller’s mistake.By listing 56 insecurity events in China’s air traffic control system within the past two years,this paper find out the reasons leading to these unsafe events.With analysis and summarized of the characteristics of these reasons,the human factors involved are found out.Using human factor theory,this paper analyses the impact of human factors in air traffic control.Finally,using the human factor model and considering practical work,this paper point out the solutions and control measures to each aspect of controller work.It proposed to find out the best match of air traffic control system,improve the error-tolerant rate and reduce the influence of human factor in air traffic control.
