Whether it is now or in the future,heterogeneous bicycle flow is the main feature of non-motor vehicle flow in China.The heterogeneous bicycle flow shows new characteristics,which makes the capacity and the level of service of bicycle lanes need to be recalculated.When designing a bicycle lane,the first problem to be solved is to calculate the bicycle lane design parameters that meet the requirements of a given traffic volume,such as design speed,width,isolation form,etc.In view of the fact that there are many factors affecting the capacity of bicycle lanes and a large number of measured data are lacking in China,it is extremely important to use the simulation method to study the capacity and the level of service of bicycle lanes under heterogeneous bicycle flow.Firstly,the basic characteristics of bicycle are investigated and analyzed.Then,a multi-valued cellular automaton of heterogeneous bicycle flow model based on two-step movement mechanism is constructed.Through simulation,it is concluded that the random slowdown of electric bicycle has a greater impact on the bicycle throughput than regular bicycle;the capacity of bicycle lane increases with the increase of the proportion of electric bicycle and the number of effective lanes;the greater the speed difference between the two types of bicycles,the smaller the corresponding critical density.Secondly,this dissertation takes the user,s perception and traffic flow state into consideration,and combines the user,s perception model with the multi-valued cellular automaton model of heterogeneous bicycle flow,then an evaluation method of service level of bicycle lane based on simulation is proposed.This method is used to evaluate the service level of the bicycle lane of Zhongshan South Road in Guilin,and the service level division standard of five levels was obtained.The result of evaluation is grade D.The traffic flow is close to the unstable traffic flow which is disturbed greatly.The users have insufficient riding space and relatively tense riding.At the same time,the conclusion that the bicycle lane design should be carried out according to C-level is drawn.Finally,this dissertation constructs a method of bicycle lane design based on simulation.And this method is used to design a bicycle lane in Guilin City.Under the given traffic characteristics and traffic demand conditions,the bicycle lane parameters that meet C-level are calculated by simulation:the design speed is 25km/h,the net width is 2.54m?2.60m,which is isolated by green belt.The multi-valued cellular automaton model constructed in this dissertation provides a better method for the study of the traffic characteristics of heterogeneous bicycle:flow,the capacity and the level of service of bicycle lanes.Furthermore,it provides a new idea for determining the design speed,the isolation form and the width of the bicycle lane.
