Research On Equipment Design Suitable For The Elders And Children Sharing In Public Space Of Residential Area

Building an elderly livable environment has become a hot topic in recent years.It is clear that in the rapid development of the city,the living environment closely linked to our lives is constantly changing.Research on improving the outdoor environment in residential areas is also very rich.Unlike the outdoor space research in the general sense of residential areas,China has its own unique characteristics.Due to factors such as family structure and imperfections in pension and child care systems,the burden of caring for children often falls on the elderly.At the same time,they have become the main users of the outdoor activity space in the residential area due to their abundant leisure time.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the outdoor public space suitable for the elderly and children to rest and play daily.Research on suitable space for the elderly and children needs to fully understand them.This study takes the elderly and children as the research objects,and selects three representative residential areas in Beijing to conduct on-the-spot investigations to fully understand the outdoor activities opportunities and frequency of the surveyed subjects,and contents,activities,environmental preferences,activity requirements for public spaces,environmental assessment,etc.,combined with the characteristics of the physiological activities of the elderly and children,to explore the appropriate space environment that meets the needs of the elderly outdoor activities but also to stimulate the vitality of children's games.The survey found that during the outdoor activities of the elderly,the behavior of younger children was affected by the elderly,while children who were able to play autonomously had a greater impact on the activities of the elderly.At the same time,the types of activities of the elderly are diverse,the spatial distribution characteristics are banded,and the open rest space is highly concentrated.Children's activities are dominated by games.The venues are selective,distributed in groups and scattered,and they are natural,fun,and diverse.Based on the above findings,this paper analyzes the relationship between the activities of the elderly and children and the design of the facilities,classifies the different types of activities,clarifies the relationship between these behaviors and facility design,and the design of installs facilities is carried out on this basis,so as to create an outdoor public space suitable for both the elderly and children.The design is specifically discussed from the aspects of modeling,function,color and safety.Through the research in this paper,I hope to provide valuable suggestions for the design of outdoor public spaces in residential areas suitable for elderly and children activities in the future.
