In the process of construction of Gen ? nuclear power plant(AP1000?EPR,etc.)all around the world,the problem of design quality is one of the serious problems which affect the schedule and the cost of the whole project.Besides,the requirement of nuclear safety and quality is increasingly crucial after the Fukushima nuclear accident.Design quality is the decisive part in all steps forming nuclear safety and quality.Therefore,how to improve the design quality and design service level has become a difficult problem to be studied and solved in the field of nuclear power project management as soon as possible.Firstly,this thesis introduces the theories and methods of Total Quality Management(TQM and Concurrent Engineering(CE).Following,this thesis introduces the overview of HY nuclear power project,and contents and requirements of design quality.By statistical analyzing the edition updating and design change of design documents for nuclear island,it can be found that too many drawings are updated and design changes are issued frequently.It can be concluded that the design quality problems are mainly shown in the constructability of drawings,the manufacturability of equipment design,the safety and reliability.Using the cause and effect diagram and 4M1E methods to analyze the preliminary causes of design problems,and making in-depth analysis on design quality management system and control process,it can be found that management issues such as lacking of communication and coordination between designer and owner,purchaser,constructor are the primary cause of these design quality problems.Finally,this thesis studies the applicability analysis of CE theory in nuclear power project,and then puts forward the method of using concurrent engineering in design period to improve the design quality for nuclear power project.The composition of design team can be enriched by forming a multi-disciplinary team,and communication between different fields can be enhanced by collaborative working.The defects and conflicts can be exposed and resolved at an early date,and then the improved design can satisfy the demand of owner,purchaser,constructor,and operator and maintain even better,as far as possible to design the best at the first time,to reduce the design changes in later stage.Taking the project of utilization of nuclear energy in district heat supply accomplished by HY nuclear power plant as instance,the application of CE in design stage is specifically explained from aspects of organization,collaborative work and conflict coordination and the improvement effect of design quality is evaluated at last.The study of using CE theory to improve design quality for nuclear power project will help extend the application of CE in nuclear power project management,and will provide reference and guidance for future nuclear power project management.
