Since the reform and opening,China's economy has developed rapidly,and the people's living standards have improved significantly.With the development of the economy,people's requirements for material and spiritual life have become higher and higher.The report of the Nineteenth National Congress pointed out that China's major social contradictions have been transformed into contradictions between the people's growing needs for a better life and imbalanced and inadequate development.Under the high-quality demand of people for living and working environment,China's decoration industry develops very fast,and decoration companies are becoming more and more,which causes competition being fiercer and fiercer Cost control of decoration projects is of great significance for architectural and decoration companies.On one hand,it can improve the economic benefits of the company.On the other hand,through the advantages of high quality and low cost,it can attract more customers and forming a virtuous circle,which promotes the continuous development.However,the application of cost control theory to China's architectural decoration projects in the existing literature is less and needs further exploring and verifying.In this thesis,the theory and methods of project cost control are combed in detail.This thesis also analyzes the status and problems of decoration project cost control of company J.As a medium-sized decoration company in W City,company J has been constrained by the project's profit margin.These problems,such as poor communication of information,inadequate engineering connections,material wasting,extensive on-site management,lack of dynamic cost control,have all restricted the development of the company.According to the above problems and the characteristics of the decoration project of company J,this thesis explains the feasibility of introducing the earned value method to the project cost control of company J Then the earned value method is applied to project L of company J,used by breaking down the work structure,developing cost plan and schedule,setting monitoring points and related calculations,to analyze the causes of deviations and take cost control measures to correct them.And this thesis also proposes cost control operation and guarantee measures from the institutional and organizational level to ensure the cost control effect of the earned value method in project L.The research in this thesis shows that the earned value method can effectively solve the cost overrun problem of project L,as well as realizing the collaborative control and dynamic control of the cost and schedule of the decoration project,improving the company's current cost control status,which improves company's market competitiveness by saving its cost,enhancing its economic benefits and risk resistance.The research can also provide a useful reference for decoration companies to apply the earned value method for scientific cost control.
