Research On The Current Situation Of Engineering Leadership Training For Engineering Students

Modern engineering,characterized by complexity,systematization and comprehensiveness,puts forward higher requirements for engineering science and technology talents.In order to meet the needs of engineering practice,engineering leadership training of engineering students is put on the agenda.What is the engineering leadership of engineering students?What is the current situation?How to cultivate the engineering leadership of engineering students?This paper takes the engineering leadership of engineering students as the starting point,based on the analysis of the engineering leadership cases of Chinese and American universities,and combined with the empirical investigation of E University.First of all,it combs the concept,elements and influencing factors of engineering leadership,as well as the education model,and expounds the theoretical research on leadership;secondly,based on the summary of the current situation of engineering leadership training in China and the United States,it selects the engineering leadership training system of MIT and Zhejiang University as the case,from the training objectives and curriculum content.And the three aspects of training methods were analyzed in detail and in-depth.It is found that:on the whole level of engineering leadership training in China and the United States,the engineering leadership training in American colleges and universities has reached the popularization period.Most colleges and universities have set up different levels and different forms of leadership training paths,while the engineering leadership training in Chinese colleges and universities is just in the initial stage,and the scale of engineering leadership training needs to be further improved.On the basis of case analysis,taking engineering students of E University as the object of investigation,the investigation and Research on engineering leadership of engineering students are carried out in four dimensions of self cognition,knowledge,ability and practice.Meanwhile,the students are interviewed according to the questions involved in the questionnaire,and the current situation of engineering leadership training of engineering students of E university is comprehensively investigated.It is considered that the engineering leadership training of engineering students in E university is generally good,and the four dimensions are all above the average.However,there is still much room for improvement in international vision,reflection and internalization ability,general education knowledge,engineering leadership knowledge,communication and expression,innovative thinking,participation in practical activities,etc.In terms of the factors affecting the cultivation of students' engineering leadership,the research focuses on the analysis of gender and the situation of serving as student leaders.It is found that the engineering leadership of boys is stronger than that of girls,and that of students who are student leaders is stronger than that of students who are not student leaders.On the basis of case analysis and empirical investigation,this study believes that from the overall level of higher engineering education,in order to adapt to the new requirements for talents in the increasingly complex modern engineering field,more and more colleges and universities need to attach importance to the cultivation of engineering leadership,deepen the research on the curriculum system and training path of engineering leadership cultivation,and implement it at the practical level as soon as possible.This study puts forward the following suggestions from the external and internal environment of engineering leadership training:increase the coverage of engineering leadership training,recommend engineering leadership training jointly by schools and enterprises,reflect the characteristics of schools and disciplines,build multiple training paths and improve the initiative and sensitivity of learners,so as to further promote engineering education in China Development.
