| In recent years, the global economic situation is constantly fluctuating, natural disasters, public health events such as COVID-19 epidemic occur frequently, which brings unprecedented challenges to various engineering projects. As a mega construction project related to the national economy and people’ s livelihood, due to its large economic size, numerous stakeholders, long construction cycle and other characteristics, under the current background,it faces more and more adverse events such as crisis, risk and disaster. Those adverse events greatly increase the possibility of project cost overrun and schedule delay, resulting in project interruption or even failure. Therefore, the new era has given higher requirements to mega construction project organization, project organizations should actively take measures to improve the ability of mega construction project to resist complex environment. As a leader in the mega construction project organization, the project manager plays a very important role, the leader’ s decision-making behavior, cognitive skills have influence on organizational members and even the whole organization.Appropriate leadership style can lead the organization to overcome various challenges, improve the ability of the organization to resist risks, and make the organization more resilient, which is the key to the survival and development of mega construction projects in the complex internal and external environment. However, there are few studies that analyze the influence of leadership style on organizational resilience from the organizational perspective, and there is still limited discussion on the internal mechanism of the influence of transformational and transactional leadership style on organizational resilience in the Chinese context. In this background, this paper based on the leadership theory, regulatory focus theory and the resource-based view, around the core question of “how does leadership style affect organizational resilience” this core problem, through resource and cognitive perspective, delve into when mega construction project organization dealing with the internal and external adverse events, the influence of leadership style on organizational resilience. This paper is mainly consists of the following parts.First, through the Citespace bibliometric analysis software, this paper sorts out the relevant studies on mega construction projects and organization resilience, and puts forward the research questions based on previous studies.Second, this paper sorts out concepts related to mega construction projects, leadership style theory, organizational resilience, regulatory focus theory, and resource integration, puts forward research hypotheses, and builds research models. Finally, this paper uses partial least square structural equation model to verify the hypothesis, and analyzes the results. Results show that both transformational and transactional leadership styles have a positive effect on organization resilience in the Chinese context.Among them, the transformational leadership style has a greater effect on organization resilience than the transactional leadership style, the transformational leadership can improve the coping ability facing adverse events, achieve organization growth and development, and the transactional leadership style can enable the organization to maintain crisis awareness in the daily stable period,to prevent and predict risks, and to deal with adverse events more calmly.Regulatory focus, resource integration play a mediating role in the relationship between leadership style and organization resilience.Transformational leadership can effectively initiate organizational promotion focus, while transactional leadership can effectively initiate organizational prevention focus,These two leadership styles have a positive effect on resource integration. This paper expands the application of organization resilience in the context of mega construction projects, enriches the research on leadership style theory and regulatory focus theory at the project organization level, provides theoretical and practical guidance for the improvement of performance of mega construction projects. |
