The Arctic autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV)can acquire Arctic environment date autonomously, and is known as a high-tech equipment in the marine field. With an Arctic AUV with high work depth and long range as the objective, this paper studies the multidisciplinary design optimization(MDO)method of non-torpedo type AUV,which provides a technical reference for the design of similar vehicles in the future. The main work is as follows:(1)The construction method of mixture approximation model is studied.Based on the analysis of response surface methodology,Kriging and radial basis function neural network, the paper combines them into a mixture approximation model, whose predictive capability is analyzed contrastively by different types of test functions. On this basis, the mixture approximate model of non-torpedo hull resistance is established(2)The evaluation method of design scheme based on grey analytic hierarchy process is studied. In order to avoid the cognitive differences in analytic hierarchy process, the grey judgment matrix of Arctic AUV is constructed by the evaluation criteria of manoeuvrability, rapidity, static stability, reliability and application. The three schemes are evaluated by weight, and the optimal design scheme is determined(3)The optimal design method of Arctic AUV based on concurrent subspace design is studied. The optimization methods of the concurrent subspace optimization, the concurrent subspace design and the collaborative optimization method are discussed, and the applicability of them are verified with the classical example. On this basis, the vehicle is divided into three disciplines, which are hull form, energy and structure, and the optimization framework is constructed by concurrent subspace design. The optimal design of Arctic AUV is accomplished by the resistance mixture approximate model and ANSYS finite element analysis results.
