| The subway lines built from the 1960s to the early 21st century, due to various political, economic, technical, scale and other restrictions during the construction, are not good in space quality. After more than 30 years of operation, various problems occurred frequently in the space, space quality declined, and the space environment gradually failed to meet the needs of people, and presents an unsustainable development trend. With the acceleration of the urbanization process, the quality of the existing subway public space will be gradually improved in the city, and it has become an established trend to update and transform the existing subway public space built in this period. In order to cope with this trend and solve the problems, this paper introduces the theory of "organic renewal" for research.Firstly, this paper makes a theoretical study on the "organic renewal" and the existing subway public space, and analyzes the important connection between the "organic renewal"theory and the renewal of the existing subway space.Secondly, through the field investigation of the existing subway public space, the existing problems were found, and the spatial status quo and causes of the problems were analyzed to clarify the practical value of the organic renewal of the existing subway public space. Then,on the basis of understanding the reasonable connotation of "organic renewal"theory, this paper puts forward the design principles and the design methods of the renewal of the existing subway public space. Finally, the paper takes the public space of Shanghai gymnasium station as an example to study the design of organic renewal,to realize the application of "organic renewal" theory in the existing subway public space, and to provide a reference for the future reconstruction of the existing subway public space. |
