Since 1996,when the United Nations children's fund(UNICEF)launched the initiative of building "child-friendly cities",the healthy development of children has been receiving wide attention all over the world. As a populous country,China has a population of 235.23 million people aged 0-14 in 2018.While the number of children continues to increase, most of the urban construction in China fails to give children the space resources and rights to use that they should enjoy for living and growing up.Research shows that city parks are important places for children to meet their natural needs and grow up freely and healthily. However,as a national garden city,Dalian's per capita park green area was lower than the national average in 2018.Therefore,how to effectively safeguard the interests of children's space in the iron and steel forest of the city and provide accessible and friendly park environment for children is the focus of this study. This study takes the urban park in the downtown area of Dalian as the main research object to explore the relationship between children's family travel behavior and the influencing factors of park accessibility. On the basis of understanding the internal relationship between children's family travel characteristics and travel environment,Suggestions are proposed to optimize children's travel accessibility in urban parks.Firstly, the researchers analyzed the spatial distribution characteristics of urban parks in the area, and then select two representative parks to conduct empirical research on children's family travel cases, and analyzed the characteristics of children's family travel and travel environment satisfaction. On this basis, the construction characteristics of child-friendly urban parks and the accessibility of transportation from children's families to urban parks are explored. The results show that the overall spatial distribution of urban parks in central urban areas is uneven, and the proportion of construction types is unbalanced, which makes them less attractive to children and families.Children aged 3-6 are the main travel subjects of children's families. The travel time that can be reached within 30 minutes is generally acceptable for children and families. And the overall accessibility of private cars and public buses is good, but the important walking accessibility is poor. The main problem that causes dissatisfaction with the travel environment occurs in the stage of "the end of the trip &entering the park",that is,the connection between the travel environment and the park. The layout, scale and area of the park, traffic environment and child-friendliness of the park arethe main factors affecting the accessibility of children's travel in urban parks. On this basis, the accessibility optimization strategy of urban parks is proposed from three aspects: realizing the overall layout of the park, optimizing the child-friendly transportation environment, and improving the attraction of parks for children and families.
