The level of physical activity is closely related to the quality of healthy life of residents, especially for the elderly, appropriate physical activity has a positive effect on their physical and mental health.Through effective intervention to build the environment and support the elderly to actively improve their physical activity level,it will be beneficial to the development of healthy aging. As a kind of transactional physical activity in the life, buying foods has a significant impact on their healthy life and social interaction. There is a certain correlation between the facilities and distribution of the food market and the buying behaviors of the elderly. However, the relationship between physical activity and built environment is complex.Independent planning theory, qualitative or quantitative research can't provide specific implementation approaches for building a friendly built environment, which is becoming a key breakthrough in the field of urban planning to actively promote the healthy life of the elderly. This paper makes a structural analysis of the food market from the two aspects of accessibility and attractiveness, and uses the method of quantitative and qualitative analysis to explore the internal relationship between the built environment and the physical activity results of the elderly. The purpose of this paper is to propose the optimization strategy of the spatial layout and refined design of the food market to meet the needs of the elderly for the specific actual plot.Firstly, based on the review of relevant research progress at home and abroad, this study constructs an analysis framework of factor identification / strategy building / environment optimization.Secondly, taking the characteristics of the built environment in Dalian as a case, relying on the data of the elderly buying foods, starting from the dual perspectives of the accessibility / attraction of the built environment, through the statistical quantitative analysis and qualitative comparative analysis, identify the built environment factors that significantly promote or restrict the use of the elderly food market and explore the interaction between the factors, finally to clarify the internal directional relationship between regional conditions and improvement approaches. It is found that spatial distribution density, spatial minimum distance, type and diversity of facilities and outlets are the key factors affecting the elderly use of food market;in terms of accessibility, compared with travel suitability, spatial proximity has a greater impact on the use frequency of food market;in terms of attractiveness, the impact of self-planning elements and external environmental characteristics complement each other, especially it's the nature of residential land and rich facilities and outlets, and satisfying one of the food markets can have a positive effect on the elderly's buying activities;compared with accessibility, attractiveness plays a major role in influencing the use frequency of the food market;in the construction of improvement approaches, the combination of "the minimum space is close and there is a farmer's market","the spatial distribution density is high and the type is rich" can improve the area. The possibility and applicability of domain shopping activity are high. Finally, based on the needs of the elderly, the paper puts forward suggestions for optimizing the environment for the establishment of the food market. It can be seen that the combination of statistical analysis factors and qualitative comparative analysis strategy is a feasible way to provide a refined design strategy for the built environment of an elderly friendly city.
