Street is the most important public space in the city.It is not only a space carrier that undertakes a variety of public activities for citizens, but also plays a connecting role in different types of spaces in the city. The quality of the street space directly affects the citizens’ feelings about the urban space.Starting from the people-oriented concept, the optimization of the quality of the urban street space is of great significance to the enhancement of the citizens’ happiness and sense of gain. This article attempts to analyze the internal and external mechanisms that affect the quality of street space from a macro perspective through a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis. This article takes street space and function evolution as the starting point, summarizes the meaning of street space quality, and reviews the existing street space quality evaluation methods, focusing on how to use multi-source data and new technologies to achieve spatial quality evaluation research. The relevant literature at home and abroad is analyzed to provide theoretical support for this article.Based on the quantitative analysis of street vitality and built environment, this article takes the two clues of spatial vitality and environmental assessment, from objective analysis to subjective and objective combination, and uses the Macao Special Administrative Region as an empirical object to evaluate the street space quality of the street.A multi-dimensional evaluation was made.In terms of objective analysis of street vitality, the street network topology is analyzed with spatial syntax, and street length is used as a weight and the appropriate walking distance is used as a radius to construct a street network accessibility model to analyze the characteristics of the street network from a walking perspective; The subjective and objective analysis of vitality combines the street network model as the basis and introduces Internet review data as the weight to construct a vitality simulation model of urban street space;in the objective analysis of the built environment,it collects streetscape images of the Macao Special Administrative Region,Recognize the statistics of the elements appearing in the image through semantic segmentation technology, analyze the composition of the environmental elements of each street section and the spatial distribution of various environmental elements within the scope of the study;in terms of subjective and objective analysis of the built environment, use the ELO score method Evaluation of the street view pictures, and then use the artificial neural network(ANN)model to learn the relationship between the scores of the street view pictures and their element composition, and automatically score all street view images in the range,so as to achieve the environmental quality of all streets in the research range Make an evaluation. Finally, from the perspective of the interaction between place space and stream space, the local construction mechanism of street space quality is discussed. The study found that the quality of street space is not only a combination of human activities and material environment, but also a combination of objective objects and subjective perception. The quality of the street space will affect the user’s perception of the street space, and it will spread through the media, especially the Internet media, affect the vitality of the street space, and affect the design process of the street through the mode of public participation, and help improve the quality of the built environment.Different from the limitation of focusing street space research on medium and micro analysis in the past, this article extends the research perspective from the macroscopic city scale, and attempts to enrich the scope and level of street space research, especially street space quality research.
