Transport carbon emissions account for 25% of global carbon emissions and are one of the main sources of urban carbon emissions. In order to control the carbon emissions of transportation at home and abroad, public transportation,non-motorized transportation, and pedestrian transportation have begun to be encouraged to travel. At the same time, the sub-health problems brought about by urban life make people urgently need a simple and convenient way to maintain their own health, and walking can meet people’s needs. In urban streets, living streets carry a large number of daily behavior activities of residents, and the need to promote walking is even more urgent. Therefore, how to improve the walkability of urban living street space through urban planning and increase the walking options for residents’ daily travel is of great research significance. This paper takes the living street space in the built-up area of Xi’an as the research object.First, sort out related theoretical research and evaluation methods of walkability, and construct a multi-dimensional index evaluation method combining walk score measurement and walkability evaluation indicators. Then it is based on an open network data platform,Obtain the urban road network data, public service facility POI data, residential community POI data, residential walking path data, and transportation station data required for the study, and process the data through ArcGIS.Secondly, the life of the main road as the main boundary, secondary roads as a secondary boundary, comprehensively consider the urban road network skeleton, divide the urban basic living units, and superimpose the living street road network density and residential district density in each unit to the living unit,Divide the two-density levelsand select typical sample units;define the walking life circle of each living unit through the 15-minute walking isochronous circle of the residential quarter as the research scope of each living unit.Thirdly, based on field surveys and population heat maps, analyze the daily travel characteristics of residents of all ages in built-up areas of Xi’an,and use AHP analytic hierarchy process to build a “public service facility classification weight table” for residents of all ages and improve the "walk score” Measurement method, and directly measures the dimensional indicators of the walkability of the living street space in the sample living unit.Through the 7 indicators of "facility function density","facility function mixing degree","living street length at intersections","intersection density","entrance and exit density","bus station density" and "bus line density" Dimensional indicators to quantify the potential impact of walkability of living street space in built-up areas of Xi’an,and analyze the results of measurement and quantification. Finally, based on the premise that the travel destination is reachable on foot, that travel paths are diverse, and transportation is convenient, taking the living street space of Xi’an built-up area as an example,Proposed planning and optimization techniques and methods for public service facilities, living street road networks, and public transportation stations in living street spaces.
