In the contemporary era,the new media has transmitted cultural symbols more quickly,comprehensively and realistically to the public's recognition of architectural works,and has also built a wider and diverse carrier of cultural exchanges.The development of architecture has always been influenced by the media.The development of new media has greatly changed the content,methods and communication paths of architecture,and architecture has increasingly entered the public's discourse.What are the contemporary characteristics of the public perception of architectural works in the era of new media in terms of cognitive approach,cognitive content and cognitive results? What are the differences between the architectural and nonarchitectural background of the public's cognitive characteristics of architectural works? How does new media and traditional media affect the public's architectural cognition compared to field visits? And how to improve the public awareness of architectural works?Combined with relevant theories of architectural communication,this paper starts with combing the cognitive process model of architectural works,and analyzes the internal and external factors influencing the cognition of public architectural works: cognitive structure and media stimulus.This leads to two main clues in this paper:(1)the cognitive differences between architectural professionals and non-architectural professionals;(2)different media characteristics lead to different cognitive results.By combing the cognitive psychological process and behavioral response of architectural works,and combining the background of the new media era,this paper summarizes six changes in the public cognition of contemporary architectural works,which is the third clue of this paper.Then,combined with the overall public perception survey of architectural works in specific urban areas of xi 'an,the "subject difference" characteristics that affect cognitive results are summarized.Through a cognitive survey of four architectural works in xi 'an,this paper summarizes the characteristics of media differences that affect cognitive results.Finally,combined with literature research and survey research,it presents the existing problems affecting contemporary cognition of popular architectural works,proposes two main points of objective and rational architectural cognition,and the characteristics of architectural creation from the perspective of public cognition in the era of new media.The strategy of “raising the public awareness of contemporary architectural works” from four perspectives: architects,architects,media and building managers..The study finds that the cognition of architectural works through media retelling has become the main cognitive method of the contemporary public.However,the contemporary architectural communication media have also made the basic architectural information exposed by the public inadequate,one-sided,exaggerated,beautified and even misinterpreted.In this architectural cognition process model,decision makers,architects,media and construction management managers all bear certain responsibilities: some architects put too much emphasis on self-expression,ignoring the function and details of the building itself,ignoring the building and the city and the local Relationship,neglect of architectural culture,lack of communication with users,etc.;it is difficult for the general public to access professional paper media,but non-professional media lacks professional guidance;construction managers ignore the construction of public cognitive channels...All these have caused a huge fragmentation inside and outside the construction industry,providing a certain growth environment for the growth of those weird buildings.In addition,through investigation and research,it was also found that although the knowledge of architecture through media reports has become the mainstream,it will eventually return to the architectural field cognitive experience.During the field cognitive process,the public is always most concerned about the real needs,bright and beautiful The media information is not as impressive as the architectural aesthetics created by the functionality,practicality,interactivity,attention to human nature,the spirit of the place and the essence of space.
