As the main way of urban space growth in China,the problems of large-scale expansion and low-density sprawl in the construction of New city are increasingly significant.It is especially critical to pay attention to the compact space in the development process of New city to achieve the development goal of New city.Existing studies show that the research on space compactness is mostly limited to the macro scale,and insufficient attention is paid to the space compactness of New areas.Therefore,New city from the aspect of different space to explore the scientific and reasonable space is compact degree evaluation method,evaluation of New city in the intensive degree of efficiency in the development of space feature and morphological evolution,indicate the spatial pattern and the development goal of diversity,to realize the efficient and sustainable development of New city zone in China is of great significance.The research mainly includes three parts: the construction of the evaluation method for the space compactness of the new city,the evaluation practice of the space compactness of Xixian New Area,and the optimization research of the space compactness of Xixian New Area.Firstly,this paper studied and sorted out the spatial evolution model of China’s new city,analyzed the main problems existing in the development process,and summarized the correlation method of measurement of spatial compactness.On this basis,a multi-factor superimposed spatial gravity model was proposed as the main measurement method of spatial compactness of China’s new city.Based on the development characteristics of new city in China,the evaluation model of space compactness of new city in China is determined from different spatial levels and different temporal dimensions.The measurement method and the evaluation mode constitute the space compactness evaluation method.Secondly,the spatial compactness of Xixian New Area was evaluated.By preprocessing various data,the evaluation database was built in GIS platform,and the spatial gravity model of multi-factor superposition was applied to evaluate the spatial compactness of Xixian New Area from two aspects,namely different spatial levels and different time dimensions.Different spatial levels include macro-level,meso-level and micro-level.By extracting remote sensing images from three historical periods of 2010,2014 and 2018 and identifying urban construction land,the gravity model was used to conduct a comparative analysis of spatial form compactness in different periods.Finally,based on the evaluation results of two aspects,under different spatial hierarchy,the heterogeneity and morphological evolution trend of compactness in Xixian was determined.similarities and differences of compactness in Xixian between present situation and the development goal were analyzed,which were then used to propose suggestions for optimizing the space compactness of the Xixian New Area.The main conclusions of the study are as follows: first,An evaluation method of spatial compactness of New city combined with technical methods and evaluation models is constructed,which can effectively identify the spatial pattern and low-efficiency areas of development of New city.Second,the spatial compactness of Xixian New Area was evaluated.The spatial compactness of Xixian New Area was revealed from different spatial levels,and the evolution trend and spatial evolution characteristics of the morphological compactness of Xixian New Area were analyzed from different temporal dimensions.Thirdly,by analyzing the target positioning of the relevant planning for the development of Xixian New Area,the differences between the current situation of space compactness and the development goal of Xixian New Area were analyzed from different spatial levels,and on this basis,suggestions for the optimization of space compactness in the Xixian New Area were put forward.
