Since the reform and opening up,on the one hand,in order to promote the development of the Chinese economy and promote the prosperity of various industries in China, infrastructure construction projects have been used as the basis for economic development, and infrastructure investment has continued to rise.On the other hand, the Chinese government has responded to the financial crisis in 2008.The $4 trillion stimulus package introduced during the financial crisis has greatly boosted investment in domestic infrastructure projects, with remarkable results over the years. However, with the deepening of industrial structural reform, growth in infrastructure construction tends to slow.In order to ease the contradiction of overcapacity, increase corporate profits and broaden the scope of corporate profit market.Overseas investment by Chinese companies is growing rapidly. However, other governments ' institutions and market mechanisms have also brought more uncertainty about the success of projects. The complexity of the power project itself has also added many challenges to corporate investment. This paper analyzes and studies the risks of overseas investment for the Mingulu coal-fired power station project in Indonesia. This paper constructs the risk assessment model of overseas investment, quantifies the risk of risk factors related to the project, calculates the weight of risk factors relative to the overall risk of the project, and finally determines the total risk of the project. Finally put forward some suggestions to reduce the risk of overseas investment based on the total risk of the project.
