Research On Critical Success Factors Of "Going Global" Of China Railway Project Based On Multi-case Analysis

With the proposition of “the Belt and Road” policy,a good political environment has been created for the “going global” of Chinese railways.As the pace of railway internationalization has accelerated,more and more project experience needs to be sorted out and studied.The construction of overseas railways has different complexity from that of domestic railways,and the scope involved needs to be very broad.How to use the past experience to accurately grasp the mechanism of critical success factors will have a very important practical significance for the overseas implementation of Chinese railway.This article first reviews the domestic and international research literature on railway internationalization,and then analyzes the literature and four typical cases of the Mombasa-Nairobi railway,Addisababa Djibouti Railway,Jakarta-Bandung railway,and Makkah Metro Pink Lin.Besides,extracts from them 35 preliminary success factors.A questionnaire was then issued,and frontline staff and industry experts were asked to score these 35 factors,collect the questionnaire and perform a factor analysis of the data.Finally,15 critical success factors were obtained.Furthermore,through the establishment of an expert group,a model for explaining the key success factors of China's "Going Global" railway was established.According to the hierarchical division in the model and the influence relationship between the factors,the mechanism of the critical success factors on project success was sorted out.Finally,through the action mechanism embodied in the model,it puts forward opinions and suggestions on the implementation of "going global" of Chinese railways from the four levels of country,industry,enterprise and project.I hope that through qualitative and quantitative research methods,the process of success factors can be scientifically reflected,and practical and effective management opinions can be put forward from a practical perspective,with a view to providing some reference for future specific work.
