Understanding The Relationships Among Critical Success Factors(CSFs) For Stakeholder Management In Construction

The construction industry has always been the primary industry of the national economy,but it is difficult to make project success.As multiple stakeholders are involved in the construction project,the complexity of the project is created.They are independent and have specific interest.At the same time,there are complex links among them.Therefore,how to effectively manage stakeholders and make decisions to maximize benefits is the basic requirement.Based on the stakeholder management,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to discuss the critical success factors that affect the project success and their influencing mechanisms.First,this paper has a theoretical overview and literature review of stakeholder management and critical success factors.On the basis,critical success factors are identified and classified,hypotheses are proposed,and a theoretical model of critical success factors influencing project success is constructed.Secondly,according to relevant literature,14 critical success factors were extracted and classified into three categories: stakeholder characteristics and project characteristics(SCPC),stakeholder dynamics(SD)and stakeholder engagement(SE).The questionnaire was designed based on these factors,and the data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed.Thirdly,the proposed hypothesis is verified by SEM.Descriptive statistical analysis and normality test are performed on the collected data.Then exploratory factor analysis was carried out to verify the reliability of the data and the accuracy of the classification of influencing factors.Also,we constructed the CFA model by AMOS 22.0.The model was modified according to the model fit index,and the validity test was carried out.The structural equation model is used to verify the hypothesis.Finally,according to the conclusion,SCPC and SD have no direct influence on project success,but both of these two influencing factors have an indirect influence,and SE can directly influence project success.Influence mechanism of the three key success factors are: access to stakeholders characteristic and project characteristic(SCPC)is a precondition;Team workers predict the stakeholders dynamic(SD)according to the characteristic information,Let stakeholders engage(SE)in the project.Therefore,this paper believes that successful stakeholder management in construction projects should follow the steps: identify stakeholders and project characteristic information(SCPC);Predicting stakeholder dynamics(SD);Develop stakeholder engagement(SE)in project decision-making.
