Preliminary Research On Space Strategies For Environmental Mediation Of Architecture

The subject of this paper comes from the practice of curriculum design in Southeast University which the author participated: under the background that active technology has gradually become the dominant mode of environmental mediation of architecture,how can we obtain the ability of mediating architectural environment through building itself? Starting from the design course of "Courtyard Renovation of the Former Institute of Technology of Southeast University" which the author participated in during his master's degree,this paper chooses the type of carrier of the College of architecture and the Department Library of the university,and tries to explore the design method of this kind of building in hot summer and cold winter areas which can adapt to the environment and improve the indoor environmental quality.This paper has three parts.The first part is a review and reconstruction of the theory of environmental mediation of architecture,including the origin and development of the concept;the integration of knowledge with other disciplines;and the analysis of the relationship between human,building and environment.The purpose of this part is to establish the basic attitude of the contemporary research in environmental mediation of architecture,and provide the basis and direction for further research.On the basis of theoretical research,the second part carries out an empirical study on the spatial form and indoor environment quality of architectural academies and departments in hot summer and cold winter areas.Choosing Chongqing University,Hunan University,Southeast University,Tongji University Architectural College and Departments,which are representative in hot summer and cold winter areas in China,as the research objects,to conduct student interviews and issue questionnaires on users' satisfaction with building indoor environment,collect users' subjective feelings and evaluations of thermal,light and wind environment while building.Data acquisition of shape and local climate environment is the basis of subsequent software simulation.The third part is based on the analysis of the survey data,from the macro and micro levels to conduct qualitative and quantitative research on the design level of building environment regulation.Through the software simulation,data analysis,comparison and summary of the site-level building-orientation selection,monomer-level building-overall shape control and building layout,the relevant strategies with environmental pertinence are explored.The last part of the concluding remarks explains the topic selection and research process of this paper,and puts forward the summary and Prospect of the research on this topic.There are about 47,000 words in the text,116 figures and 2 tables.
