Study On The Path Of Transformation And Upgrading Of West Port Area Of Qinhuangdao Port

Since the beginning of the 21 st century,the throughput of China’s ports has been increasing fast.As a result,now both cargo and container throughput of China’s ports rank the first in the world.As a coastal port city,Qinhuangdao City has both its port and hinterland which play important roles in regional socio-economic development as strategic resources with the biggest potential for development and competitive edge.Developing port-vicinity industry is the key measure for the development and revitalization of port cities,the entry point and driving force for port economic development,and an important part of modern port city economy.After years of development and construction,West Port District of Qinhuangdao Port has relatively well-developed port facilities and preliminary formation of development pattern.At present,as the main container transport channel in our city,Qinhuangdao Port takes bulk cargo transportation as the main mode of transportation.The promoting strength of Qinhuangdao Port on local economy has initially appeared and is continually being strengthened.However,with the economic and social development of Qinhuangdao City,a series of problems in West Port District have become increasingly prominent,which not only affects the healthy and sustainable development of the port itself,but also greatly restricts the development of the city and the promotion of the regional economy.West Port District of Qinhuangdao Port should draw lessons from the advanced experience and successful cases at home and abroad,with the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting Port Transformation and Upgrading" from the Ministry of Transport as the guidance and building a tourist & leisure city the goal,based on a comprehensive understanding of the basic situation and environmental background of the Xigang district,combs and analyses the effect of ports in promoting regional economy,the spatial layout of ports and cities and industries,the external environmental impact,their own foundation and the talents engaged in related industries combined with the direction of local economic development,so as to find out the parts that need to be transformed and upgraded urgently,thus puts forward the transformation and upgrading path of the Xigang district.The path is to transform the port into tourist resort and leisure district on the basis of the rich history and human resources of the city,transform it into a multi-functional urban area on the basis of its excellent regional location,transform it into an international cruise area on the basis of its unique port conditions,and upgrade the port into a container industry center on the basis of its good industrial resources.
