Research On Shikumen Building Renewal Based On Heterogeneous Design Method

Architecture represents the culture and development of a region,while historical buildings can better reflect the context of a city’s development from its unique shape,show the accumulation of urban culture,and support the cultural development of a city.Shikumen building,Born and raised in Shanghai,the Shikumen architectural culture is one of the representative of Shanghai style culture,and as a symbol of the living culture of Shanghai people in the past.In a modern society with global integration and cultural integration,through its highly cultural and highly recognizable architectural appearance,Shikumen building appears in the public view and blends with modern civilization.In order to realize the splendor of the regeneration of historical buildings,people have done many researches and attempts on the methods of renewal and continuation of historical buildings,hoping to make historical buildings have more active vitality in nowdays.Therefore,this article will take the heterogeneous design method and Shikumen architecture as the research direction.The significance of the research is to avoid the past reconstruction of the old buildings with a single renovation,but to achieve the coexistence of new and old culture through the treatment of heterogeneity.Renewal and development of Shikumen’s architecture is capable of both complete inheritance and innovative development.The research object of this article is Shikumen architecture and "heterogeneous" design method.With Shikumen architecture as the entry point,study the formation of Shikumen’s architectural culture,and analyze the current status and existing problems of Shikumen’s architectural renewal along with the architectural characteristics.Regarding the use of "heterogeneous",from the current state of Chinese and Western research,its use in architecture and other design fields has been studied and analyzed by many designers and scholars in the West.There are more references in the literature.The author will summarize the available data,sort out its related theoretical sources,as well as its fields and use advantages,as well as sort out its design methods,and sort out "heterogeneous" design methods and their application value.Based on the development and renewal status of Shikumen building,the principles and strategies of renewal under the "heterogeneous" design method are sorted out.In terms of the structure of the article,in the first part of the article,the research background,purpose and significance,research methods and current status,as well as the innovation of this article are explained.The second part and the third part respectively make a detailed study and analysis of the "heterogeneous" design method and Shikumen building.The fourth chapter proposes the development principles and strategies.The last chapter is based on the status of Shikumen building renewal.The architectural space model suitable for its development is combined with the conclusions obtained from the research on heterogeneous research to carry out innovative practices and propose further research directions.
