In the latest standard for planning and design of urban residential areas in 2019,the area of public green space for each person in the old residential area is specially indicated, and the green space for the special group of old people and children is added. At present, the residential areas in 80-90's still account for a large proportion in the city. These residential areas generally have two characteristics: first, they are open-ended residential areas, which can well realize the sharing of resources with the city;second, these residential areas are difficult to meet the growing use needs of residents no matter their own functions or carrying capacity. In addition, the status quo of each residential area is very different, there are different degrees of damage and status to be repaired. Therefore, how to study the current situation of the green space of the existing residential areas, and then according to the different situations of the residential areas,to repair and update the hierarchical treatment,to achieve people-oriented,and ultimately to improve the ecological environment of the residential area, improve the quality of life of the residents has become particularly important. In this paper, the existing residential areas in the 80-90's are taken as the research object, and the green space is studied in-depth.Through the summary and analysis of the existing problems in the green space, the hierarchical strategy is summarized to transform and update the existing residential areas, and on this basis, combined with the existing residential areas for the reform and design,to verify the feasibility of the implementation of the hierarchical strategy first. The details are as follows:First of all,a lot of basic knowledge of residential green design has been studied, including relevant theoretical theories at home and abroad,as well as the actual cases that have been built, and these theories and cases are summarized according to different theoretical trends,so that these research results can provide the corresponding theoretical basis for the green space construction of existing residential areas;secondly, take the existing residential areas of Dalian as an example, for the large We have carried out in-depth and detailed investigation on 10 communities in each region, including the number of green plants, site conditions and rest activities facilities in each residential area,so as to summarize the problems of the existing residential green space.According to the summary of the problems,we know that the current situation of the residential green space is different due to the intermittent renewal and the residents' self maintenance design,so we have carried out the hierarchy The design strategy of transformation includes three stages: function improvement, quality improvement and mature optimization. In the mature optimization stage,"community life circle" is taken as the starting point to study and gradually complete the green space transformation design of each residential area. Finally, taking Lianping street small area in Dalian as an example, the hierarchical transformation design practice is carried out according to the corresponding strategies proposed. In the process of the overall transformation, the author tries to establish a "bottom-up" staged and hierarchical transformation mode guided by the actual needs of residents, improve the overall quality of residential green space, improve the participation in the transformation of residential areas, enhance the construction of residents' sense of belonging, and provide some guidance for the transformation of existing residential green space.
