Design is the core of the general contracting project,with the advantages of fast project progress,good cost control and high social ergonomics,which directly affects the investment,time limit and quality of the project.Design management is an important part of the general contract management of construction projects and the lifeline of the whole project.Civil engin-eering major has the characteristic of drawing first after design conditions,and the workload is large,the construction period is short,more designers are needed,and more majors related to civil engineering work are needed.The quality of its design management is directly related to the success or failure of the entire EPC project.This paper takes the Aqaba oil terminal(AOT)project of the kingdom of Jordan,which Binhai Design Branch of Beijing Petroleum Engineering Construction Company participated in as a design subcontractor.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the purpose and significance of this research.The second chapter is the case text,which introduces the general situation of the company and the project,briefly describes the st-atus quo of the design management of civil engineering specialty,and introduces the problem-s existing in the design management of civil engineering specialty,such as low quality of de-sign documents,professional progress lag,complex interface and communication.The third chapter is case analysis,which analyzes the causes of these problems through expert interviews and brainstorming.The third chapter is case analysis,through expert interviews,brainstorming and other methods to analyze the causes of these problems,using the fishbone diagram method to find the various causes of each problem,and then through induction and summary,the reas-ons are combined and classified,and the key factors leading to these problems are summarized.The fourth chapter is countermeasures and Suggestions.Relevant theories and tools such as power/interest grid,Gantt chart comparison method and Norbert wiener's cybernetics are applied to find solutions and suggestions in the three stages of benchmark,monitoring and control.Hope these countermeasures and Suggestions to help improve the construction of civil engineering professional design management system,and the EPC project for the future of civil engineering professional design management plays a role of reference.
