Research On The Historical Spatial Change Of Tianfu Square In Chengdu Since Qing Dynasty

City square is an important component of urban public space,and it is the space where people’s daily life and public communication activities are concentrated.The development of the square is also built on the same time axis of the past,the present and the future.Understanding the history of Tianfu Square,we can understand the present Tianfu Square,and we can predict and plan the future of Chengdu.Based on this,this paper combs the spatial evolution of Tianfu Square in Chengdu since the Qing Dynasty,sums up the general functional properties of the Square in different periods,finds out the reasons for the changes and development and the interrelationship between the political,economic and cultural,for the design,construction and transformation of the Square today.It fully reflects the culture of Bashu and Tianfu,and provides a reference for both philosophy and culture.This paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter one mainly analyses the evolution of Chengdu Plaza and its geographical environment;Chapter two mainly expounds the establishment of Shuwang Palace in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties and the rise of tribute courts;Chapter three elaborates the structure and function space of Tianfu Plaza in the Republic of China;Chapter four elaborates the structure space,function space,leisure and commerciality of Tianfu Plaza since the founding of New China.From gathering activities to sports activities,economic activities,cultural activities,service activities and so on,the content,function changes and evolution process of Tianfu Square gathering in Tianfu Square are shown in detail through tables.The fifth chapter elaborates the reconstruction of Tianfu Square since the reform and opening up,enclosure building and style transformation.It gradually presents the functions and characteristics of the modern square.From the perspective of historical and geographic space,it analyses the influence of Tianfu Square as a landmark building on urban construction and its surrounding enclosure buildings,even on the whole city of Chengdu,and reflects the geographical coordinates for Chengdu from the deep level.The people,the spirit of Tianfu and the significance of human history.Through the research,we draw the corresponding conclusion that when the square space conforms to people’s behavior and psychology,it can attract people to move in the space,get people’s recognition,and form a sense of place.Such space is positive and can play the role of public space.On the contrary,it will be ignored and unable to play a role,and become a negative space.
