Education is the foundation of development.According to the statistics of the Ministry of Education of China,China's higher education has entered the stage of popularization since the 21 st century,and the number of college students enrolled as well as the scale of construction increased year by year.As the main place of education,the teaching building has the highest proportion in the construction of colleges and universities,and has always been the focus of designers.Domestic research on the design of teaching buildings usually focuses on the main function space of classroom activities,such as classrooms and lecture halls,however,there is less research on corridor space linking functional spaces,connecting internal and external environments,carrying activities such as self-study,discussion,rest and other inter-class activities.Therefore,in the teaching buildings,especially in the multi-disciplinary public teaching buildings,a large number of corridors lacking refined design only meet the basic traffic requirements,and it is difficult to meet the requirement of diverse inter-class activities,which is not conducive to exchanges between disciplines.The exchanges have problems such as low utilization rate and poor participation.In addition,the refined design is a domestic design trend,and the important stage of the refined and high quality design of the building is the systematic design of numerous levels of space.For the teaching building,in addition to the main functional space,other secondary spaces such as corridor space and marginal space also need to be paid attention to by designers.Therefore,how to make the teaching corridor space meet the needs of varied inter-class activities through refined design,and create a more comfortable environment for teachers and students is the research that we should pay more attention to.Through literature and theoretical review,this paper lists the research direction and practice status of teaching buildings systematically,refined design and campus space.Then,combined with the development history of the teaching building,this paper sorts out the development of the space of the teaching corridor,summarizing the type of space in the teaching corridor,laying the foundation for the next step.Secondly,through questionnaire analysis and field research to understand the teacher's and students' awareness of the corridor space and the needs of use,analyzing the constituent elements and scale forms of the corridor space,thereby conclude characteristics of the corridor space in the level of functional ambiguity,heterogeneity and morphological diversity.Using behavior map and Depth map software to analyze the specific teaching corridor space,the following conclusions are drawn: 1)The activity of the teaching corridor space is determined by five space properties which are accessibility,culture,ambiguity,staying and privacy;2)the five spatial properties are the result of the combination of scale,composition,type,cultural and surrounding environment;3)the behavioral distribution within the space has characteristics which are boundary effects,complexities,seeing and being seen,proximity and domain.Finally,combined with the results of the previous analysis,the paper puts forward the design principles of smoothness,integrity and humanity,and outlines the refined design direction from five aspects: ambiguity,culture,staying,privacy and accessibility,which form the foundation of the space characteristics and behavioral characteristics of various types of corridor space,targeting the proposal of specific refined design strategies...
