As technology advances, drawings are no longer limited to two-dimensional flat spaces.Building Information Modeling(BIM)based on 3D models has received increasing attention. In this thesis, the earned value management method is used as the real-time monitoring and evaluation method of engineering, and through the construction and discussion of 3D building information model,it is hoped that the correctness of the two-dimensional drawing will be established before the start of the project, and the errors on the two-dimensional drawing will be corrected earlier.Avoid errors during the construction process, generate additional expenses, and allow the project to be completed as scheduled. This paper takes the comprehensive office building project of Fuxin Coal-to-Gas Project as an example and introduces BIM and earned value management to conduct research. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)When the project is checked for the first time, the estimated loss is16,453,571 yuan, which is about 30% of the planned cost, and the total delay is 17 days.At the second checkpoint, the estimated loss is 14,230,339 yuan.Exceeding the predetermined project cost of approximately 26% and delaying the total period of 15days;when the structure is completed, the total cost of the project is 60,706,724 yuan, which exceeds the predetermined project cost by approximately 11%,but there is no delay in the total construction period. This estimate of earned value management analysis helps engineering executives assess the realities of the project and provide alerts.(2)Taking the earned value management field as the real-time monitoring and evaluation method of the project, the project management team can be provided with the progress and cost execution efficiency of the current project and the prediction of the completion status, which can be used as the basis for engineering decision-making.(3)At present, the construction on the project site is based on two-dimensional drawings.Through the construction of the three-dimensional building information model, the correctness of the two-dimensional drawings can be verified, and the information errors of two-dimensional drawings and errors of spatial information can be reduced.Occurs to prevent the occurrence of engineering construction errorscaused by 2D drawing errors.(5)In this project, through the construction of the three-dimensional building information model of the structure, design change items such as floor plan paper errors, spatial information discrepancies and changes in owner's needs can be avoided, accounting for about 3% of the total cost; The cost added due to the difficulty of construction of special structures accounts for about 8% of the total cost.
