| Hazard perception(HP)refers to the process by which drivers identify, assess and respond to dangerous events on the road.Driver failure due to low-hazard perception(HP)skills is considered to be one of the main risk factors associated with accidents in young drivers. Therefore, this study developed hazard perception tests to explore the impact of hazard types and driving experience on hazard perception. On this basis, the video evaluation feedback and oral evaluation feedback risk perception training project of young novice drivers are developed to improve the risk perception ability of young novice drivers.Based on this, the following two studies have been carried out:Study 1 aimed to developing hazard perception testing for young novice drivers.Using4(hazard type: latent materialized hazard, latent un-materialized hazard, overt materialized hazard, overt un-materialized hazard)× 2(driving experience: young experienced driver, young novice driver)mixed experimental design.Aiming to develop a risk perception test to examine risk perception processing differences between young novice drivers(n =22)and young experienced drivers(n =21).Study 2 aimed to hazard perception training for young novice drivers with feedback assessment. In this study,we used 3(training method: video evaluation feedback training group, oral evaluation feedback training group,no training group)×4(hazard type: latent materialized hazard, latent un-materialized hazard, overt materialized hazard, overt un-materialized hazard)two factor mixed experimental design. The aim was to develop an evaluation feedback training project to improve the risk perception of young novice drivers using 63 young novice drivers. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:1、The reliability and validity of the risk perception test of young novice drivers developed in this study are good, which can effectively distinguish young experience from novice drivers.2、Young experienced drivers are significantly different from young novice drivers in the four types of risk perception response, and can respond to risk more quickly.Young experienced drivers have more accuracy than young novice drivers for tests that are latent materialized hazard, latent un-materialized hazard, overt un-materialized hazard. However, there was no significant difference in accuracy between young experienced drivers and young novice drivers for overt materialized hazard tests.3、The young novice drivers were trained by video evaluation feedback in the experimental group lower than the control group with oral evaluation feedback and the controlgroup without training.Compared with the control group without training, the test accuracy rate of young novice drivers who were trained by video evaluation feedback was significantly improved, and the risk response was more correct.4、According to the data of entertainment driving attitude questionnaire before and after the test, the driver of video evaluation feedback group did not have a bad effect on the driver’s entertainment driving attitude by watching the video of real accident case.5、In the frequency of fixation, the drivers of video evaluation feedback group and oral evaluation feedback group watched more than the untrained drivers. To some extent, young novice drivers trained by evaluation feedback can maintaining the sensitivity of risk perception, paying more attention to the danger area than the untrained young novice driver, and responding in time, improved the driver’s visual search mode. |
