Design Strategy Research On Boutique Homestay In Lijiang Traditional Settlement,under The Theory Of Critical Regionalism

The research content of this paper is derived from the design project of traditional settlement boutique homestay in Yuhu village,Lijiang,Yunnan,by Li Xiaodong Atelier.Adjacent to Yulong Snow Mountain and Lijiang,Baisha,Shuhe ancient towns bond,Yuhu Village is an important extension of Naxi cultural region as well as world cultural heritage.Since China entered the period of rapid economic development,its traditional settlements and adhered local traditional civilization have encountered the crisis of realistic development and historical inheritance,as well as the great opportunities for development under the new economic model.In recent years,the country’s attention to rural development issues has increased,urban society has also set off a boom in rural construction.Through combing and summarizing the theory and practice cases of the protection and development of traditional villages,this paper constructs the theoretical context and values of the spatial design strategy of the Yuhu Village project,and provides the significant background for project targeting."Regionalism" is a hot topic in the field of rural construction,and the relevant theories of regionalism have been discussed and practiced at home and abroad.On the basis of absorbing the regional theory,especially the relevant theoretical achievements of critical regionalism,this paper attempts to extend the theory and practice in the direction of regional spatial intervention strategy in the context of traditional settlements.As a thriving industry recently,boutique homestay has the characteristics of flexible scale,outstanding space design and close relationship with the environment,also has high social and economic value for rural construction.However,the existing industry pays more attention to exquisite space construction and business services rather than the real and regional relations to local environment,especially in spatial design methodology.Traditional Settlement defines the premise context as well as regionalism defines the theoretical identity of spatial strategy(Chapter II);Boutique Homestay defines the prototype of space(Chapter III);combined with tectonic specificity of Yuhu Village(Chapter IV),the paper concludes the spatial intervention strategy in the context of traditional settlements and the design strategy of Yuhu Boutique Homestay(Chapter VI).
