China's rural areas have entered the stage of rapid development of urbanization, and great changes are taking place in China's rural areas. The rapid construction of rural areas has promoted the rapid changes of rural traffic construction and built environment, and the travel of rural residents to towns and cities is more convenient and fast. With the change of the built environment,on the one hand, the number of alternative modes of transportation for rural residents increases, and their original modes of transportation may change accordingly; On the other hand, through the study of rural residents' travel satisfaction,it can reflect the rural residents' experience of using transportation infrastructure, the subjective feelings of transportation planning and travel and the necessary needs.Rural traffic infrastructure construction and road planning should better meet the daily travel needs of rural residents, which is the embodiment of people-oriented new rural sustainable construction, and also provides theoretical guidance for rural traffic planning and construction practice.Based on the perspective of rural residents, this study obtains the research data through three times of questionnaire survey.Through SPSS23.0,Acrgis 10.2,Amos21.0,using factor analysis,MNL model, structural equation, and acrgis geographic information technology,it conducts a step-by-step in-depth study on rural residents' perception and preference of built environment, choice of travel mode, and travel satisfaction. And according to the research conclusion, combined with the actual situation of Sichuan Province, put forward policy recommendations for the new rural construction. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Through factor analysis of rural residents' perception and preference for the built environment,it is found that: residents feel that daily travel is convenient, good accessibility, public environment and living environment are safe and comfortable, there are better travel roads, but there are still traffic and criminal incidents in the built environment.Rural residents prefer to live in the environment of travel safety, and travel safety is the most important for rural residents, followed by trafficconvenience, public environment, travel road, neighborhood harmony and other factors.(2)After establishing MNL model for rural residents' travel mode,it is found that: building density has a significant positive impact on private car travel, which is contrary to the conclusion based on urban construction environment research. The reason is that the rural density is far lower than the city, and the distance from the city center is still far.The increase of road density will increase the frequency of rural residents choosing electric bicycles and motorcycles.Accessibility perception and preference positively affect the probability of walking choice. The perception of safety and neighborhood harmony has a positive impact on the travel frequency of motorcycles and private cars.Rural residents who like safe living environment are more likely to choose walking.(3)Through the path analysis of rural residents' travel satisfaction,it is concluded that the construction density, road density and the number of convenient markets have a significant positive impact on rural residents' travel satisfaction, and the construction density has the greatest impact on travel satisfaction, followed by the road density. The better the infrastructure and accessibility, the higher the residents' travel satisfaction.Preference for self owned vehicles has a positive impact on travel satisfaction.Bus travel directly negatively affects travel satisfaction, private car ownership significantly positively affects travel satisfaction, while other family car ownership has no significant impact.Rural residents' satisfaction with daily travel mode has a significant positive impact on travel satisfaction.According to the conclusion of empirical research in Sichuan Province,in the future rural construction,we should more ensure the travel safety and comfort of rural residents, and consider the feelings of rural residents on the built environment in rural planning,so as to make the new rural construction more people-oriented.Although great achievements have been made in rural road construction, the frequency of rural residents taking public transport is still very low.The convenience of rural public transport needs to be improved. It is suggested to increase investment in public transport facilities, increase bus stops and bus shifts, and fully consider the regional suitability of new rural road network planning. In order to improve the travel satisfaction of rural residents, the construction administrative departments and rural construction planners should consider to appropriately improve the building density and road density of the new countryside, and increase the number of convenient and accessible fairs for rural residents.
