With the acceleration of urbanization, urban spatial pattern has gone through major changes. The spatial structure adjustment owning to city expansion increased the travel distance of residents, which further lead to residents' dependence on the car, causing traffic jams, air pollution and decline in public health and life quality.Under the background of refined urban development,it has become a new subject of urban planning research to guide sustainable transportation by improving the built environment, optimizing the urban spatial structure, promoting the urban transformation to compact and intensive pattern, improving the quality of human living space by refined design, and creating humanized built environment by improving the built environment.Advancement has been achieved in the study field of built environment and transportation, but most studies focused on whether or not the built environment variables affect travel behavior, and the measurement of environmental characteristics is too broad to distinguish different elements of built environment's effect degree on various travel mode. Therefore, based on the actual construction and development of Harbin city, this study firstly determines five factors of the built environment: density, diversity, design, distance to transit and destination accessibility via the relevant comparison of domestic and international research. The volume ratio, land use mixing degree, road network density, distance from the center of the area and the number of bus lines within the 800 m buffer zone around the subway station were quantified.Secondly, according to the location characteristics of Harbin and the development characteristics around subway stations, five subway stations in the main urban area of the city were selected as the research objects for investigation, and residents' travel information was obtained by means of random questionnaire survey.Multiple logit regression models were used to build the regression model of the built environment data, personal family attributes and residents' travel data around subway stations,so as to obtain the influence coefficient of the built environment factors around subway stations on residents' travel mode and draw a conclusion.Among them, the improvement of volume ratio and mixing degree can promote the non-motor vehicle travel of residents, and the increase of mixing degree, the number of bus lines and the density of road network can improve the possibility of public transportation use of residents. At the same time, this study proposes optimizing strategies for the planning and design of the built environment around subway stations from the perspective of guiding residents to travel green. This paper aims to study and analyze the influence of various factors on the travel modes of residents around Harbin subway station and their influence degree by means of statistical analysis and combining built environment of Harbin, and propose optimizing strategies for promoting residents' green and healthy travel from the perspective of built environment. The study on the factors influencing the travel modes of residents around the subway stations in Harbin city can also provide reference for local planners, governments and developers, and optimize the built environment around the subway stations to develop a healthier mode.
