Studies On The Problems And Development Of Large-scale Pig Breeding In Bobai County Of Guangxi

In the structure of meat species of Chinese residents,pork has always occupied a high proportion in animal husbandry of our country.China is not only the largest producer of pork in the world,but also the largest consumer of pork products.Therefore,the sustainable and healthy development of pig industry is related to social stability,rural development,and increasing farmer income.As a big pig breeding county of Guangxi and a big pig transfer out county of China,Bobai County has long history and unique development advantage in pig breeding.However,there are some outstanding problems for pig breeding in Bobai County such as backward breeding condition,short pig industry chain,and environmental pollution caused by pig breeding.Hence,it is very necessary to study the plan and policy of large-scale pig breeding in Bobai County.The development of pig industry in Bobai County can be divided into five stages,and large-scale breeding began in the fourth stage,which is about 1999.At present,the pattern of pig breeding in Bobai County is the large-scale pig breeding as the leading with small-and-medium scale as the main body.Under the situation that retail investors continue to withdraw from pig breeding and the main body of scale aquaculture tends to stabilize,the average number of scale farms increases obviously.It was found that there are some main problems in large-scale pig breeding in Bobai County as follows.The farmers of pig breeding are too old with low education level.The division of labor is not clear,and the professional and technician are lack.The cultivates of pig breed are insufficiency,and the breeding chain is short.The production mode is single,and the enterprise strength is weak.Breeding condition is backward,planting and breeding is disjointed,and environmental protection pressure increase.The development of pig breeding lacks the fund,and subsequent development is weak.The sale market is not enough to cultivate,and the live pig price is easy to fluctuate.The slaughtering and processing enterprises lacks,and short industrial chain of live pigs lead to low efficiency.It is difficult to obtain loan support for pig breeding enterprises.Most cooperatives exist in name,enterprises are in a state of developing alone.There are insufficiency of skill training opportunities and technical services.It is difficult to gain land for developing scale breeding.Based on the analysis on successful experience both domestic and foreign pig scale cultivation,combined with the actual situation in Bobai County,some countermeasures and suggestions are proposed such as extending the large-scale development modes,strengthening pig industry service support,promoting the combination of planting and breeding,increasing land supply for scale pig breeding,establishing new systems of sewage treatment in Bobai county.
