Research On Value Estimation Of The Rice-fish System In Ruyuan County

Inherited from ancient times,ecological thoughts have been continuously enriched along with the development of society.Since the 18th National Congress,"enhancing the production capacity of ecological products" has become a hot topic of ecological construction in China.From the perspective of agricultural production,while thinking about the way out for modern agriculture,people should also turn their attention to learn the wisdom of traditional ecological agriculture model.As one of the traditional ecological agriculture in China,this model places rice and fish in the same field,which not only uses the biological reciprocity of rice and fish to achieve the purpose of ecological planting,but also employs the same rice field to produce both carbohydrates and animal proteins.Although the integrated cultivation of rice fields has the above ecological functions,its value cannot be expressed by the market,leading people to ignore the existence of these values.Firstly,this paper defines the rice-fish system and proposes that rice-fish system is an artificial wetland through the ecological design on the basis of natural environment,which can not only produce both rice and fish products,but also has a series of ecological functions,such as temperature regulation and atmospheric composition.After exploring the value-evaluation indicators and system of rice-fish systems,through the case study method,with Ruyuan County of Shaoguan City,Guangdong Province as an example,this paper discusses the value of the rice-fish system in the county and tries to establish a value evaluation system.Based on the available indicators and data,we can draw the conclusion that the comprehensive value of rice-fish system in Ruyuan County is about 94 million yuan.Each part of value are quit different from others,the value of water regulation and temperature regulation takes more than 90%of total value.Compare to rice monoculture system,rice-fish system has advantages on economic returns,soil organic accumulation and greenhouse gas emissions of farmland.During the assessment process,we also found that the result is not absoluteness because of a variety of data and methods.The exiting assessment result demonstrates the vitality of traditional ecological agriculture in providing quality ecological products in a market-based value expression way.What's more,the value assessment results also provide the basis for the establishment of ecological compensation mechanisms and accounting for the total value of ecosystem production,providing new ideas for the protection of the inheritance and development of the world's agricultural cultural heritage and the sustainable development of modern agriculture.
