Energy saving wood drying kiln is mainly composed of drying kiln body,inlet and exhaust ducts,special heat exchanger.Through the method of combining the theoretical calculation and numerical simulation,the study completed design of energy saving wood drying kiln and structure optimization combined with production practice.(1)The preliminary design schemes of kiln body was given according to the construction site and timber production,The numerical simulation analysis of the model built above schemes were made and structure optimization was done based on Fluent.The results show that 1000mm is the best choice of distribution channels width and the height of inlet and exhaust ducts.(2)The preliminary design schemes of inlet and exhaust ducts were given according to the the design schemes of kiln body and the inlet and exhaust volume of air.The numerical simulation analysis of the model built above schemes were made and structure optimization was done based on Fluent.The results show that 1000mm is the best choice of inlet and exhaust ducts height when orifice diameter was 60mm.(3)The preliminary design schemes of special heat exchanger were given according to waste heat discharge process and theoretical calculations,The numerical simulation analysis of the model built above schemes were made and structure optimization was done based on Fluent.The results show that the best choice of baffle plate height and spacing were 360mm,300mm.the best choice of the tube pitch of heat exchange tube was 82mm.(4)The overall design scheme was given according to the design schemes of kiln body,inlet and exhaust ducts,special heat exchanger.The calculation results of Energy saving effect and economic benefits show that 627.91 kg standard coal was saved in a production cycle by a new energy saving wood drying kiln in 52.5 m3 under Average annual condition,751.52kg standard coal was saved under winter condition.
