Guangdong was the main productive region in China,with a long history of plant and process.However,there were still many problems,such as less plantation of elite variety,lack of unique varieties,which makes it difficult to guarantee the quality.The quality and product diversification competition were the key part of the market competition.Selecting the varieties with the characteristics of strong suitability for manufacture,high production,high-quality,played a decisive role on meeting diversified development needs,optimizing the product structure.To provide technical support for the development of breeds with high-production,high-quality,and high-efficiency,this paper systematically studied the adaptability to cultivated regions and suitability for manufacture,the new national cultivar Hongyan12 used as material.The results as follows:1.Research on the adaptability to cultivated regionsThe plant Hongyan 12 is the tea shrub type clone with middle-leaf and early-bud.The experimental results showed that the plant had the high survival rate,strong resistance on cold,drought and insect,and disease resistance in three regions,Yingde,Lianjiang and Huaiji.The fresh leaf yield of grow-up plantation was from nine thousand and ninety-two point nine five to nine thousand eight hundred and seventy point zero six kg per ha in three years.The adaptability of the cultivar to cultivated regions was superior to the control Huangdan in Guangdong.2.Research on the suitability for manufactureTea polyphenols and catechins were twenty-one and point seventy-seven percent and three and point fifty-seven percent,respectively in fresh leaves.The contend was 2.89% of free amino acid.The ratio of tea polyphenols and free amino acid was moderate,so the cultivar is not only suitable for making oolong tea,but also can also make black tea and green tea.The results of quality analysis of oolong tea: the average content of tea polyphenolsand water extracts were 20.72 % and 37.13 %,respectively in three areas.The average total amount of catechins was 78.76 mg/g.These chemical components were higher than that of the control Huangdan.The aromatic compounds of olefins and esters in Hongyan 12 were more abundant than the control.The quality in three regions of Hongyan 12 was better than that of the control.The results of quality analysis of black tea: the average content of tea polyphenols and average total amount of catechins were 13.30 % and 26.31 mg/g,respectively in three areas,which were lower than that of the control Yinghong 9.The average content of sugars was9.07%,higher than the control.The aromatic compounds of esters in Hongyan 12 were more abundant than the control,while alcohols were much lower than the control.The quality in three regions of Hongyan 12 was better than that of the control.The results of quality analysis of green tea: the average content of tea polyphenols and average total amount of catechins were 20.47% and 41.63%,respectively in three areas.The average total amount of catechins was 117.51 mg/g.These chemical components were higher than that of the control Fuding.The aroma compounds such as alcohols and ketones were more abundant than the control.The quality in three regions of Hongyan 12 was better than that of the control.
