Study On Planting And Using Of Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Since Ming And Qing Dynasties In Gansu Province

Zanthoxylum bungeanum is a native tree species in China.It has been planted and utilized since the Pre-Qin Dynasty.From its initial use as sacrificial perfume to its later use,it expanded to Festival drinking,medicine treatment,food and seasoning,etc.With the deepening of people's understanding of Zanthoxylum bungeanum,Zanthoxylum bungeanum has also changed from the original wild plants to the planted economic trees.There are great differences in natural climate and environment between the north and the south of Gansu,and the southeast of Gansu is warm and humid.Therefore,many kinds of Zanthoxylum bungeanum are distributed in southeastern Gansu,followed by other areas,and the least in Hexi area.Zanthoxylum bungeanum produced in southeastern Gansu Province is a special product of Gansu Province.Its quality is excellent,so it has gradually developed into a local characteristic industry.At present,there is no systematic and comprehensive study on the distribution,cultivation and use of Zanthoxylum bungeanum L.in the historical period of Gansu.Therefore,it has certain academic significance to discuss the cultivation and use of Zanthoxylum bungeanum L.in Gansu since Ming and Qing Dynasties.By consulting a large number of local chronicles and archives in Gansu,and combining with traditional historical records,this paper makes a comprehensive exploration and Research on Zanthoxylum bungeanum in Gansu since Ming and Qing Dynasties.The research contents mainly include the following five aspects: Firstly,the natural and social background of Zanthoxylum bungeanum planting in Gansu since Ming and Qing Dynasties was studied.Secondly,the distribution of Zanthoxylum bungeanum in Gansu Province since Ming and Qing Dynasties is analyzed and charted based on local historical records.It is believed that Zanthoxylum bungeanum is mainly planted in southeastern Gansu.Thirdly,the variety,planting area and yield of Zanthoxylum bungeanum L.in Gansu area since Ming and Qing Dynasties were explored.It was concluded that the planting area and yield of Zanthoxylum bungeanum L.in Gansu were increasing.Fourthly,combined with the use history of ancient pepper,the use function of pepper in Gansu area since Ming and Qing Dynasties was studied.Since Ming and Qing dynasties,the use ofZanthoxylum bungeanum L.in Gansu mainly focused on two aspects: drug use and condiment use,and there was a turning point from more drug use to general condiment use in the Republic of China.Fifthly,the commercial trade of Zanthoxylum bungeanum in Gansu since Ming and Qing Dynasties was studied.The commercial trade of Zanthoxylum bungeanum in Gansu was sold as medicine at the beginning,and had its own characteristic market,and finally developed into a local characteristic industry.
